He reminds me a bit like Tiger in the regard that Tiger just believes he can still top Jack... and in RG's mind that he can still top 31 other QB's. Year 4 and the talk amongst coaches is if he can develop. Not if he can reach that pinnacle game... if he can develop. Listen, I love me some confidence but this is kinda silly... and he's setting himself up for a hard fall. Perhaps not,,, but the setup is there.

Note to RG3: STFU already.

I don't really have a problem with this. Every player should have that mentality. Of course, id rather rg3 just say nothing.

Non story so why make a big deal of it. I'm glad he thinks this way otherwise, I would be concerned.

I don't have a problem with him believing in himself. The issue I take with his statement in that interview that he doesn't have to prove anything to anyone. But I guess when you are handed the job without competition, you have reason to believe you don't have to prove anything.

He followed it up by saying Danny Snyder is also the best owner in the NFL. And Marion Barry was the best mayor in the history of the USA.

You know how I feel on this. Kid cant help but open his mouth. This season he needs to prove he CAN be more than an option QB or he wont be in Washington going forward.

Are you suggesting Barry wasn't?

I feel for you guys. I thought this guy was going to be good. I now think he is smoking the rocks that Mayor Barry failed to light up when that bitch set him up...

Nice to be back on the boards. On this issue, don't know why the kid decided to open his mouth up now, especially on an issue like this. Oh well. Being a blowhard doesn't help, but the proof in the pudding will be how he plays when the games count. I'm hopeful, but expecting the worst.

Jeez. Same old Griffin and his unnecessary soundbites. Don't have a problem with the statement per se, just don't see the necessity to say it in the first place. Think it, show it, don't bother saying it.

Taken a bit out of context, but the media loves to run with this stuff. I mean, do we prefer he says something like "Yeah, I'm probably in the bottom tier of QBs. I'm lucky to have a job at this point man".? I mean I get that the dude loves to talk about himself and up to this I was loving hearing nothing from him. But this is the attitude all QBs and players should have right?

Agreed. But it doesn't need to be said. And given Griffs struggles with the media, why fuel the flames? Honestly, he just can't help himself I think.

You right on that. Dude cannot shut up...I mean he was doing a pretty good job about it. But to be fair, he was probably asked a leading question or something like that. He likes to talk and seems pretty intelligent so he answered in what he probably thought was good way. But he's a lightning rod right now, he can't really say anything without catching heat.

Its fine if he thinks he is the best QB in the universe. But to come out and feed the media with something like this is just asking for criticism that he has shown a serious lack of ability to handle. I used to have no problem with his attitude and his ego. But I have come to accept that these are two major factors in what is wrong with this boy as far as becoming a NFL caliber QB.

This made me chuckle. This is also what Griffin has yet to learn about the media.

Attitude probably got put in check with his failures and benching. I'd bet it was probably the first time in his playing career, even as a kid, that he's sucked or not done well. When you've been the top dog for that long, you're going to have an ego. All the best QB have it and frankly, need it, IMO. He clearly needed to mature to the point where he took more accountability. I think that's what rubbed most people the wrong way. I never felt he was/is a selfish guy. He just gets asked the most questions and answers them. He needs to learn how to play the media game better.

I think his lack of ability to process and react to what he sees on the field has more to do with keeping him down rather than his attitude or ego. That and he can't slide for sh*t.
