This is just like the classic scene from Step Brothers where Brennan and Dale are across from each other talking in bed.....

If PE1 is right this is how the conversation would have to go:

Player: ok... so what’s the length of this contract?

Agent/lawyer: I don’t know. It’s either 4 or 5 years depending upon what the club wants to do.

Player: well... how many years am I committing here?

Agent/lawyer: I don’t know. It could be either 4 or 5.

That’s ridiculous.

Here’s how it goes:

Player: ok... so what’s the length of this contract? How many years am I committing to here?

Agent/lawyer: you are committing to 5 years at these salaries each year however, the club can decline to pay you this 5th year. If they do obviously you are only committed to them for 4 years.

Funny thing is we've already have shown where the 5th year option is in fact written into contracts, PE thinks an agent will waste his time answering an email.

No you haven’t

Really?

Answer the question.

Did they sign with the 5th year option in their contract?
Niners & Kaep had a contract that the niners had the option to get out in several of the years of the contract. Yet it was still considered a 7 year deal. Weird.

Is this like again when u keep changing the draft positions that matter? Or when u we’re close with dak? Or u figure out some assbackwards way to deny why centers salaries are higher than guards? Asking for a friend

Exactly. Just like 1st round picks have a 4 year contract and the team had an option to change it to 5 yet it was considered a 4 year deal.
Me thinks you really fucked up on that one.

Assbackwards? 16 guards make over 11 million and zero Centers do. The assbackwards part is C is the one position you didn’t have to average out.
