it wasnt offside dash ... sportsnet did a pretty good job (for once) showing the flames player lifted his skate off the line on that 3 on 2

did that stats nerd story ever get posted on these boards about the "reason" why the flames had the second fewest minor penalties against in the league this year?

it was an interesting supposition ... that because they were down early or after 2 periods in so many games, game management meant refs didnt call penalties against them in order to keep them in games ... AND on the flip side ... the opposing team got penalties called on them which the flames pp opportunistically capitalized on in 3rd periods of games

interesting stuff but alas stats nerd mafia have read other things wrong about the flames this season so theres that

Just to be clear I believe every team now gets screwed when the NHL needs to script the story for better match ups.


I just think a ducks vs Hawks and a stamkos vs ovechkin match will look amazing

Pulling for the Flames to get it done against Anaheim tonight. Highly doubt they will be able to win the series even with a win tonight, but it's better for hockey if it goes more than 4 games.
