i think losing kotalik is a win win for the flames. Regehr and the 2nd rounder is ooof. but I think you drafted decent in the first round and sometimes all you need is that one guy in the draft.

The best thing about Tanguay signing is that I think it sends a clear message that Iggy isn't going anywhere.

I think that's a pretty good deal. Should be a good value for the next 2-3 seasons if he plays like he did this past season and if the value starts to fade, it's still a reasonable price that you might be able to move him if that becomes necessary. I think it's a great deal by the Flames.

Isn't Babchuk an UFA? I think 5 years is a big long. He seems to play well with Iggy so keeping him was probably a priority.

Babchuk is a UFA, but the Flames have made qualifying offers to both Pardy and Babchuk. The reports are that Anton was complaining about ice time last season, but with Regehr gone, he'll get a chance for plenty of minutes if he sticks around.
