Now the Ravens new 100 million dollar QB is telling his WR Boldin to screw the Ravens and don't take a pay cut.

That's it Joe. Stick up for your WR so your team can't afford anyone to put around you because you insist on being a greedy bastard yourself and feel everyone should get paid to the max.

Best thing he could have done is keep his fucking nose out of the situation, because either way he looks like an ass hat.

If he sticks up for Boldin, as he is, he is going against the organization t hat caved and gave him exactly what he wanted, made him the richest QB in NFL history. So now the Ravens have to figure out a way to save some money, they are already losing Lewis and Reed (retirement and FA). Now they are scrambling to get under cap just so they can sign draft picks come draft time, more less doing anything in FA.

So if he turns and supports the team that made him the richest QB in NFL history, he is sitting there being a hypocrite and telling other Ravens players...I was the important one here, it is important I get paid, but not you, so take that pay cut so we can afford more players and win another championship.

He should realize this was a no win situation for him to stick his damn nose in.

What a damn good leader you have there Baltimore!! Damn fine indeed.

LOL...The beginning of the end for the Ravens.

This subject deserved its own thread, after I posted it in Flacco the 100 million dollar reject thread.

God bless the unions. Flacco is morally right, though.

I think you're completely wrong. Flacco is sticking up for his receiver.... He made market value for his performance and is demanding that it be the same for his guy. What's wrong with that?

BTW.... LMAO at the idea that Flacco should have 'taken less' than what he was worth in contract negotiations. The Ravens had a shot to sign him to a more favorable deal before the 2012 season, but they weren't convinced that he was worth it. He played it out, won a Super Bowl and won MVP of the Super Bowl. He absorbed the risk and performed well. The Ravens took risk and are now paying.

It's a business..... Why hate the guy? And what guy wouldn't do what he did?

I don't know. If I gave a guy 120 million I would expect him to be more sympathetic to the organization and the remaining budget.

I hope Boldin does stand up for himself, because he will be on the first train out of town if he does not take the cut. So by all means, stick by your guns, and lose a damn good receiver.

My point is, Flacco needed to keep his fucking mouth shut andf let Boldin and the organization work out their differences, because sitting on the fence is better than sticking your ass on the frying pan on either side of the fence.

I know you like to argue with me to just argue, but really, there was zero need to Flacco to get involved in a money situation with another player and the organization that just gave him 120 million dollars.

I'm not arguing just to argue.... I just disagree.

If Flacco were to keep his mouth shut and be a 'company man,' he could lose the entire locker room. He just signed a big deal - He got his. If he now sticks with the front office, the other players will resent him. He should be an advocate for himself and for his teammates. The organization makes money regardless of what he does - He doesn't need to advocate for them.

I agree with all of your post except for the part about the Ravens not being sold on him before the 2012. It's been reported that they were offering top 5 QB money to him at that point.

Flacco played his hand right, but I can't fault the Ravens front office at all.

And I'm not faulting them either..... I probably said it wrong by saying they were not sold on him. They played it right and they are playing it right at this point as well. I give Flacco credit in that he turned down good money to make better money. I give the Ravens credit in that they took care of the contract before having to slap the tag on him and potentially losing more players than they would by paying him in his deal.

Funny, during this whole Flacco for top QB, for top QB money, I never heard Boldin go...You stick to your guns Joe, you are the best. Don't let the Raven's strong arm you.

No one else stood up for him the way he all of a sudden is deciding to do with Boldin. His teammates let him work out his own deal between him, the owner and his agent. They didn't stick their nose in it other than saying, Flacco is a hell of a ball player, glad he is our QB, or a miscellaneous compliment backing him. They did not stick their nose in the money situation.

I don't see how he could possibly lose a professional lockroom by letting guys work out their own financial situation with the club, instead of sticking his damn large ass nose in the way.

Should AJ Green after he signs his huge deal say, Dalton is worth the dough, he is the man, he is my QB, he deserves the bank...don't back down boy, I got your back. Does that do AJ Green any damn good to stick his nose in the way of Dalton and his contract negotiations with Brown?

Simple answer, no!

Does it make AJ Green a schmuck for not speaking up to support Dalton while Dalton is negotiating with Brown? No. AJ Green will be looked up to in the lockerroom whether he speaks up for Dalton or not. He is not going to have everyone sticking their nose in the air because he got his, now he doesn't speak up for every single player needing or wanting to get their share of the pie.

It is Dalton's agents job to get him his, not his teammates speaking up to support him.

A fellow named Tom Brady has been known to 'go to bat' for a few of his guys.... Even guys that suck.

LMAO.

That is going to be your backing? What happened to Branch by the way? His ass was traded to the Seahawks for a 1st round selection before the season even started!! LOL

Okay, so great example showing, that regardless of what the hell you want, there is zero issue going to bat for another player financially, because the "team" not the "player" will determine who gets signed and what not. If the team wants to deal with you, they will deal with you,. not because your MVP QB speaks up for you, so there is little reason to do it.

Flacco signing the deal - no matter how ridiculous someone may believe it is - actually helped the team this coming season. The cap hit is much less than what it would have been had he been tagged AND the way he structured the contract, he took less now (from my understanding) and hence a heavier contract 3 years from now so the organization would have more money to spend this year.

Flacco did well for the organization and now he's doing well for the player that elevated his (Flacco's) game in the playoffs.

For anyone to hate on that is just hating for the sake of hating.

Okay..... So now it DOESN'T matter? The team will do what they want anyway? You don't say..... Then I suppose it DOESN'T matter that the player makes a show of solidarity for his teamate.... After all, it's not going to change the perspective of ownership, so nobody is getting hurt. I guess we shouldn't get go getting sand in our vaginia about it.
