I use worms for everything. I fucking hate fake bait.... Sometimes the bigger Cats will bite on minnows or chubs though, which also might help if you want some of the bass..

Unrelated, if you're ever trout fishing, don't buy trout bait..

I usually use chicken or beef liver when Catfishin'. But I usually hear two plops. One being my hook/sinker and the other being the liver, lol.

For Bass fishing, I use crankbaits and spinnerbaits. I only use live worms for Brim fishin'

I might have to go back to live worms. My tackle box is running low and lures are just too damn expensive.

I use shad for catfish. Just a few tosses of the casting net and you've got bait for all night. Worms are good too, but I think the cut shad put out more smell.

Sometimes I'll catch a few brim and use them as cut-bait for Catfishing.

It depends what on what kind of catfish you're fishing for.. Liver and worms work well on the bottom for channel cats.... bigger channel cat will eat small bluegill or creek chubs, as will flatheads.

Cut or live bait works best for blue Cats and Flatheads.

Chicken livers work well. to help keep them from falling off during cast, freeze them and let them thaw a little and hook them when they are still frosty. They thaw really quick once they hit the water.

you guys are gay, worms catch any fish better than other shit.

In my lake, I only use worms for brim (like UTVol said), they tear them up. The bass, however, won't touch them. The bait or lure has to almost the size of fist before the bass pay it any attention. Again, like UTVol said, I use spinner & crank baits on large mouth bass.

In other lakes I have had success with bass using large dark fake worms.

anyone who ever needs surf/pier advice from VA through SC just ask.. I can tell you exactly what you need for bait depending on the time of year and exactly what you can catch.

I rarely ever fish for bass

and rarely have luck using any kind of lures
