Hey all. Planning my first trip to Denver and seeing the broncos “at home”. I got tickets for the Thursday night game against the colts in October.

Is Mile High in a walkable part of town? Any recommendations on where a person should stay? Or what attractions they should see? Any restaurants to try?

My wife and I were hoping to catch a game Thursday, do a little nature walk/hike on Friday or Saturday and enjoy a local attraction or two.

I feel like anything is walkable. :)

I always stay at the Embassy Suites on Hampden Ave. Been staying there for about the last 20 years on my way to a game. I would suggest it. It is about a 20 min drive from the stadium. Plenty of hotels but we always return to that one so I would say we are happy with it. ;). Free Drinks after 5:00, good location, good staff, good hotel, good rooms, good beds, good sinks, solid couches, good tables and fridge, shower could use a little more power. Good bar area... Solid elevators... The carpet is cool. The rocks on the outside foundation are solid... The water taste good.

@CEH will be a good resource for you as I think he goes to about every home game. I go to one a year so pretty familiar with everything around the stadium. Coors field is right downtown if you want to check it out. Walk around Coors field and there are some decent places to eat/drink. Sat for college football the Sports Column down by Coors field is fun. I would recommend a stadium tour on Friday. Last I knew they gave them on Fridays but you have to reserve a time. I think the last time I went I reserved it the day before so probably not a rush on that if interested in doing so.

What about the DNVR Bar? Is that worth going to?

If you and your wife like to drink you definitely have to visit the RiNo district downtown. They’ve got a total of about 15 breweries, cideries, and wineries all in like a 2 mile radius.

Also if you like Mexican food check out Rio Grande off 15th and Blake.

Manitou Springs
7 Falls

Red Rock Amphitheatre

Royal Gorge (Quite a drive from Denver but worth it)

Coors Brewery

Rocky Mountain National Park

Pikes Peak (Bring water because you will get light headed)

Walk around downtown. More so near Coors field then Invesco but do that too.. Not a lot to see down by the Broncos stadium other then their stadium.

Stadium Tour (reserve your time ahead of time)

Tons to do in Denver.

Cripple Creek (Only if you like Casinos)

Garden of the God's- This placed bored me as a kid but now I find it interesting.

Pretty sure you need to experience Elway’s just for the vibe. You can also catch them at DIA for a pre-flight nosh.

If you like wings go to Jackson's. A couple of blocks away from Coors Field. If you gotta rental go out to Red Rocks. It's a cool place.

1. Breweries in Ft. Collins.
2. Pete's on Colfax for breakfast

Everything else others will tell you. Just remember you're a mile high. Lol

Jackson's wings is good too.

There's a great sushi place blocks from Coors field too, West or northwest of the field.

And you're not a true visitor unless you eat bad Mexican food at Casa Bonita and see the "cliff divers".

When I was a kid it was amazing, packed, and seemed so huge. Lets just say age has changed my opinion.

If you drive downtown watch for the light rail system. Seems like every time I'm there some tourist gets hit or run over.
