Lol Our first power play goal of the series and they challenge it. Fuck you, Barry Trotz...

That has to be a good goal.

It was a good goal, yeah, but might not be a bad challenge by Trotz if just to calm the crowd down.

Gostisbehere finally gets us going on the PP as we were the only team in the playoffs not to score a PP goal. Giroux and Simmonds set him up pretty well. The Caps are also taking away of the middle of the ice and we are not very good at threading the needle in that zone when that happens. We have to figure it out though to make a comeback.

Our forecheck is damn good this period. That was funny. Simmonds gets tangled up with Holtby and drags him out to the top of the circle!

Laughton is going to leave by stretcher. Doesn't look good. More precautionary at this juncture.

The injury to Laughton looked really serious. He was talking, but hardly moved at all. He just went into the boards very awkwardly. You certainly worry about it being anything to do with his spine and hope that it is something fixable that he can recover 100% from.

I won't argue that it could be a smart move strategically, but it's a dick move to challenge it and then continue arguing about it when it was clearly a good goal. If you wipe that one out, you have to disallow a lot of other goals too.

Yeah, let's go Laughton.

Eh, timeouts to control momentum are a standard strategy in basketball and football. Challenges are just a longer timeout, and it does have a cost (you only get one timeout). I'd say it's an acceptable level of gamesmanship.

The shitty part of this whole series is that I have to listen to Joe Beninati and Craig Laughlin every fucking game simply because I live in Virginia.

I'm fine with the challenge, but don't argue with the result when any idiot knows that was a good goal. So, fuck Barry Trotz...lol

I like the enthusiasm, but let's at least win one before we start talking comeback.

lol.. I know! Having fun and having faith in this Flyers team. Washington historically has trouble closing the deal.

That and the fact that I picked the Flyers in 7. I do think the change in strategy/lines for the Flyers combined with the addition of Neuvy and loss of Orpik for the Caps makes a comeback more likely.

I just hope to close this one out, steal game five and force it back to Philly again. Then you just never know. Win game six big and anything is possible. We've played a pretty solid team game here. Maybe Neuvy can eventually get in their heads the way Holtby did us through three games.

We are doing way better on the PK and we are playing with more energy. Maybe it is Neuvy in goal or just trying not to be swept but we are far more aggressive and disciplined staying out of the box as well. I hope this is a repeat of 2010 against Boston!!
