Maybe it's just me, but when a guy is collecting sticks (basically doing cleanup from previous scraps), it's generally frowned upon to jump him and start throwing punches.

It’s like Keefe said, Stamkos knew what he was doing, knew the refs wouldn’t give him an instigator as they were already were giving TB a pen and knew he could afford to sit for a few while the PK was out there and take off one of the top PP guys for the Leafs. It was win win.

I know they’re trying to tempt the Leafs to dress Simmonds but I really hope Keefe doesn’t fuck with the fourth line. It’s been good and Simmonds is very bad other than punching guys.

As a fan without a skin in the game other than disliking Tampa a little more than I dislike Toronto I hope they dress him

I also think they need to make sure they keep Tampa from taking too many liberties with them. What you lose by playing him over one player could be made up by a few other guys playing a little skittish and constantly looking over their shoulder and getting rid of the puck quicker than they otherwise might have. Regardless I love the tension brought on by playing the same guys 7 games in row

Historically what’s ended up happening though is the Leafs lose control and everything goes to shit. Leafs are built to score and create headaches, they need to stick with that.

I guess it’s just not the kind of hit I think “this is destroying the game and making it ugly”. Could have been a penalty for sure but I’m not looking to suspend him for that.
