What a jinx I almost was last night.
I had to go to a party so I could not watch the game. I was constantly checking the score on my phone - always 0-0. We left at the start of the third period and heard the two Hab goals. All was good. I get home turn the game on and the Leafs score immediately, about 10 seconds after I turn it on. Then I see them tie it up. Throughout OT my wife keeps telling me the Habs haven't had a shot since we turned it on. I think she was seriously suggesting I turn it off. I was too tired to be superstitious or I might have turned it off and gone back to my car.

I guess we’re doing the damn thing tonight.

Mindset is this. Always expect the worst. Be two failures ahead.

He's usually a pretty funny guy on Twitter. I don't know how old he is, but there's certainly a buildup of scar tissue.

I guess it’s just really, really hard to expect good from the Leafs at this point. It’s been 17 years of so very very bad and unlike in MLB it’s really, really hard to be this bad in the parity-driven NHL.

And then nobody ever shuts the fuck up about it. This could happen to Winnipeg and people forget it happened two days later. We’re still sitting here talking about how dumb JFJ was to move Rask and that happened 15 years ago lol. It’s just hard to expect something good.

As for Marner, he's the Leafs Johnny Hockey, a smaller, skilled guy who flourishes during the regular season, but struggles in the playoffs when the checking is tighter and time and space are limited.

I'm not buying the smaller guy thing. Brayden Point is smaller than Marner and he seems to do OK in the playoffs. That Kucherov guy is also of a similar build to Marner and he seems mange just fine.

Marner has the talent to get it done, but maybe not the willingness? Who knows? Seems like his head isn't in the right place.

Case in point ^

In six playoff games the Leafs have lost their captain & 2nd best player, their best defenceman and a top six player they traded a first round pick for not even two months ago. Who could even make this shit up?

It is constant fucking misery. Any glimmer of hope is always instantly blacked out by unimaginable pain.

I don't think it will be that close.

Montreal is not good. They're really lucky to be this far. Toronto is the far better team and Montreal will run out of luck tonight.

Man, the North division was such trash this year.

I'll trade ya Seth Jones (and your first rounder back) for him. Seth Jones had ZERO penalties in the playoffs this year.

You don't know what you're missing! Yesterday I tweeted:

I had a cup of coffee and a bowl of leftover lo mein for breakfast. After I sat down and took a bite I discovered the lo mein was too hot and the coffee was too cold. The microwave was all the way across the room so I drank it cold.
