I think expanded playoffs could work fine if they just, brace yourself, consistently enforced the salary cap to ensure the gap in skill level isn’t so drastic

I think re: Marner, even if he isn't the massive problem he's made out to be it's probably in everyone's interest if he moves on this summer. If he tried to wield his NMC on any deal threaten to third line him with Reaves and Kampf and he should change his mind pretty quickly.

He will either get the biggest ex-Leaf bump in history or his new coach will be scratching him by month 2.
