Good win by the Caps last night. I was less concerned about the tightening at the end as the bad start. But after a rough first 10 minutes, they really controlled play and won the physical game for the next 30. They just have better finishers than the Canes and I think that’s likely the difference in the series. Holtby was also very strong.

Gotta say I agree with the call on the first Carolina goal. Also think Ovie’s elbow to the head should be League reviewed. Leaves his feet, principal point of contact is head. Doubt any further review will occur though

Well, I don't think it's worthy of a game misconduct, but it's a clear interference call. He made no attempt at playing the puck.

Look, we're in the twilight of the hip check. They're going to outlaw it entirely, even if players have their heads up or making a legitimate play on the puck / puck carrier. Once the NHL eliminated all the clutching & grabbing, I knew that picks and interference were next.
