I gave them a D because it can always be worse as scary as that thought is.

I am grading on a curve. I am taking into consideration injuries & the level of talent at the position.

My grades are based on my perception of their performance compared to my expectations.

I had purdy low expectations for the defense so their grades reflect that.

They are currently ranked 29th in league (25th in passing & 30th in rushing) ... and I do not see them improving much this season.

Our best hope for the defense is for the offense not to let them on the field. In order for this to happen they must

• reduce penalties
• get teams off the field on 3rd downs
• continue staying on the positive side of the turnover differential

D - because they have mad some key plays in the last two games.

I remember when the Skins had a stout defense that didn't give up many points or yards, but rarely forced turnovers. I yearned for a defense that forced turnovers. Be careful what you wish for eh.

My "D" grade is being generous, but if you think about it, generous sums up this bunch perfectly!

I went with D here as well. I know we are 2-2, should be 3-1, but I just don't feel we are playing good football. This should make us all happy though because we are definitely capable of playing better.

We are #25 in pass YPG. There is no way I would have expected that coming into this season with Norman and Breeland. I actually think Norman has played very well and I love his toughness. I don't think I like him playing the offensive left. We have only allowed 5 TDs (which is top ten), but we have given up the third highest completion percentage in the league to opposing QBs.

We are #30 in rush YPG (actually 2 teams worse), 31 in YPA (actually a team worse), and tied for last in rushing TDs (at least we are tied).

Looking strictly at the numbers, we deserve a big fat F, but only 5 teams have more takeaways, and I'm not sure if anybody has had better timing in getting those takeaways. We have to get bigger leads early so we can force the other team to throw, but even then we need to get more pressure on opposing QBs. We have 8 sacks as a team, 5 coming from a guy who should have been cut (according to one person) and played sparingly in the first game. The only reasons I can come up with on why we are not an F is takeaways and low expectations.
