Well ALR in answering the realm of possibilities question on a particular player, that would probably be the most likely scenarios for us to get Becton. Is that going to happen? Probably not. Is it totally out of the realm of possibilities? No. When it comes to the NFL and draft day, strange things are always in the realm of possibilities.

The likelier scenario is the Rams keeping both seconds and getting some great talent of which I already addressed in subsequent posts.

It will be very interesting to see how many trades actually happen with the draft being done the way it is and the fact no pro days or individual workout have been done. Medical checks haven’t been done either.

If ever a draft was going to be a crapshoot, this is the year.

At least for this year, losing that 1st doesn’t look so bad.

So even with not the ideal pick with our first 2nd rounder (Cooks trade came after we started this draft) in a RB I’ve still been able to grab some talent at positions we need. But the Rams will trade down at least twice in this draft IMO. I only did once plus I didn’t get the other 2nd rounder from the Cooks deal.

And I still have some good ideas for late round picks. Always gonna go BPA and try to make it work.

If the Rams take a RB early, then they are basically writing off Henderson without even taking his training wheels off.

That’s just crazy considering they thought enough of him to trade up and get him last year.

Not if they want to add serious talent and depth to that position which is pretty important. Running back by committee is what they are saying but the reason I took Akers is 1) he is highly underrated and 2) there 3-4 guys I wanted that were picked before my selection. And 3) I wanted to see what could be done IF we went that route.

don’t under estimate the Rams finding talent later in the draft and UDFA. Littleton was one

I think we will be selecting either Becton, the big tackle out of Louisville or Jones out of Houston with 52 and with pick 57 will see an Edge, maybe Uche from Michigan, Lewis from Alabama, or Chaisson from LSU. RB we will get in the 3rd like a Zach Moss out of Utah or the kid SJ76 mentioned. We will also address Center in the third with guys like Biadasz from Wisconsin or Lloyd Cushenberry from LSU. Keep a slot open for the big and fast receiver out of Baylor, the Mims kid. If we trade down, we may see him in the fourth or fifth.

I don’t think it’s a good year for centers. Meaning the 4,5,6 ranked centers are not far off from the top guys at that position.

Also remember this isn’t the year we are desperate for a LT or RT. Evans showed a lot last year and Havenstein should pick it up. Add in Whitworth and you have some depth along with even Noteboom. The last thing we need to do is trade up into the first. We need to get more picks and draft more guys like Evans, Cupp, Johnson imo

Here it is. Every time I tried to snag an OT the guy/s were picked right before me and I just kept going BPA. I think Simpson could play Guard or Tackle with some work. Even with Houston’s 57th overall pick a lot of the top OTs were gone. Made 1 trade down to grab a 5th.

Not bad really I think there’s some good talent especially for grabbing a RB with the first pick and not getting that pick for Cooks in the 2nd.

Arizona did well with their 1st rounder. San Fran not sure about the DT from South Carolina but they added a 4th rounder. Jacksonville took K’Lavon Chaisson DE LSU with the Rams 20th pick.
Seattle and San Fran still have late round picks in the 1st.

All-in-all, we had a pretty good draft. I am holding my tongue on that fourth round TE until he produces on the field to all the hype he got.

Yes, it's long, but worth the listen....

Some take away(s) here....
  • FSU only 4 NFL draft picks in the last 3 years? WTH is happening over there @SJ76? I do think a 'healthy' Cam will be something we look back at over time, and applaud! Caution the caveat! Imagine the Wildcat options McVay can put in the offensive arsenal? A Running Back Dropping 70yd dimes rolling to the left, my goodness!
  • Very nice comments on Van. What, the guys a mirror image of Kupp & Woods? And then there's bloodline...with LaShawn & Marla in the pedigree, RR and all of us have gotta love this!
  • Terrell Lewis is legit! The stand out comment in the video was Alabama staff ranking Lewis as the No 1 talent of all players last year, even above Tua!
  • Terrell Burgess is too a legit Safety! Imma kinda excited about this pick b/c he is versatile. Utah Defense IS the best in the West, and this kid shinned!
  • TE Bryce Hopkins, his Daddy played in SB 34 vs our Rams. Once again a pedigree player, RR hello! His high percentage converting on 3rd downs shows a trust by both the OC & QB. And about those drops, they considered his high target numbers as well.
  • This Fuller kid 6th rounder, Safety out of tOSU is the Nephew of Sinbad, the comedian, but as Les asks, can the guy play football? But it was the stamped grade he got from Scout Lebron Hill that impressed all. An Academic, All American & Captain too, hopefully the hip injury is behind him.
  • Clay had a waning McVay in the 7th wanting to put his head through a wall! Hey RR that's gotta put a forearm shiver or 2 in ya!
  • We got a few extra picks because we thought we could still get our TE in the 4th. So we pick up a PK to replace GZ in Solman & the OL Guard who may move to Center in Anchrum. This dude has been to two NCAA Championships. Remember when they said AD was too short, I'm just saying. All his backups were those big tall dudes. This is Clemson folks!
  • UDFA's section at the end, well don't stop listening! Some interesting comments about the HOF, Johnny Hekker, Bones and of course those UDFA's in those final 20 minutes!
