Rock Strongo
My mind spits with an enormous kickback.
gambling addicts everywhere shudder.
This will definitely create a domino effect and could be some epic court battles. There are some very big investors behind this new industry and they are raking in the cash. Also there is millions and millions in sponsorship money going to the pro sports league. Factor in financial and emotional attachment from the vast fan bases and zowie!Horse racing isn't gambling, though.
This is nothing more than a shakedown...... Something NY knows how to do fairly well.

Its' gonna be fun to watch
there IS a supreme court ruling (or something) i believe that states that fantasy football is exempt from gambling laws...but
dude, its gambling
you're betting money on a players projected performance. some skill involved (matchups, research, etc), but mostly just guessing...i.e gambling.
its a money grab for states that want in.
It's gambling.
We'll see how it plays out, but putting money up on an event of any kind in which the outcome is not predetermined, is gambling. That's why it's called gambling.
It still amazes me that horse racing isn't considered as such, unless it's fixed like the NFL, right Kramer1?
I'm hoping this opens the door to legalizing online poker again. The only reason poker sites are offshore is because it was banned. There used to be a huge market in the US for it ran by companies in the US. In general it's the casinos lobbying to create government barriers of entry into the market. They want to make sure if you gamble you do it at their casino not in the comfort of your own home.Yeah, this isn't like online poker. These sites aren't ran and backed by shady, cheating, offshore scumbags. It will be interesting, but will be worked out in the end.

Yea, the big ones weren't but I thought there were a ton of other smaller ones.Full Tilt and PStars never were US based. They had offices (and still do) in Costa Rica, Dublin, The Isle of Man, Malta, etc.
I think PStars can be played in Ne Jersey now or will soon be available there

Yea, that's how they all do it now for US players. Back before online poker was banned Bovada was Bodog and I used to play quite a bit on Bodog.Don't know about that. Even on Bovada now the money is laundered through international banks.
