The Kings have now played 27 games. They have scored 3 goals or more 8 times. The last time they did so was Nov. 22 (exactly 2 weeks and 6 games ago). They have only scored 3 goals in consecutive games once this season, the 4th and 5th games of the season. 2 of the 8 times they got to 8 goals they needed overtime to get there.

They are 8-0 when they get above 2 goals.

The problem here is that they are 5-10-4 when they don’t score more than twice in a game. And under this system that they are playing they CANNOT score more than two goals very often. THIS IS A FUCKING PROBLEM.

THE KINGS HAVE LOST MORE GAMES THAN THEY HAVE WON THIS SEASON.

They have scored only 1 goal six times (including the 2-1 shootout win over Anaheim last month). They have been shut out twice. That means that they have scored 1 or fewer goals the EXACT SAME NUMBER OF TIMES AS THEY HAVE SCORED 3 OR MORE.

Hockey is not a game you can win by only playing prevent defense. YOU HAVE TO SCORE IN THIS FUCKING GAME.

The thing that is driving me nuts is that the Kings have offensive weapons. Kopitar. Richards (I know, he's hurt, but still. Doughty. Gagne. Johnson.

And yet, right now Voynov is only a goal behind 1st line winger (and captain for some reason) Brown in goals (5-4) and tied with other supposed first line winger Williams (4-4) though he has played 12 FEWER GAMES.

FIRE TERRY MURRAY. I don't care who replaces him, but this shit has to end. NOW.

Murray wants more from Loktionov LA Kings Insider

If you want him to be more "creative", how about giving him some line-mates who aren't enforcers or reclamation projects in massive career-worst slumps? Here's another idea: put him on the power-play, instead of (say) Trent Hunter. Yes, I know, Hunter has a different role. Give that role to the Dustins. And let the other PP forwards be Kopitar, Gagne, Loktionov and Williams. Is that really so hard to figure out?

As I mentioned in another context the other day, after Kopitar, Richards and Gagne, the rest of the team has between zero and two even-strength goals. The rest of the entire team.

Gotta score more than 2 to win? You sure you're not talking about the Devils?

My question who would the Kings replace Murray with? Therien, Carlyle. Of the coaches available who would be better?

At least with Carlyle they won't have to pay relocation.

Hey, for what it's worth, I wanted him fired three seasons ago. He'd be at 515 career wins if he had played Ersberg more.

I did my part by booing him on opening night against the Blues (Got a few weird looks and glares from the Kings fans around me)

Reminds me of the fan who had a 'Fire Keenan" sign at the Flames home opener a few seasons ago...

hey there are lots of teams that are scoring less than the Kings since October
the Lakers, the Clippers, the Dodgers, I hear Charlie Sheen rarely scores more than twice a night now.
With Richards, Kopitar, Gange, Brown, Penner, and Williams it is hard to believe the Kings are 30th in scoring.

To be safe, anyone involved with hockey named Murray should be fired.

Except Murray Bannerman. I always liked that name.

If there is no turn around by xmas l think he will be gone

For me it's about more than just their record. I can't even watch their games all the way through because they are so boring to watch. Something should be said about the entertainment value and how that applies to their compete level. The Bruins/Panthers game last night was scoreless until the third and was one of the best games I've seen in a while simply due to the compete level for both teams at both ends of the ice. If the Kings are going to rely on shots from the blue line they better be willing to pay the price in front of the net. You can't always wait for the right opportunity to present itself, sometimes you have to create those opportunities out of nothing.

I think that's what's lacking most for the Kings right now. Just my opinion though.

agreed. A month ago I had written a post about how the Kings are boring.
