Moving my thoughts over here..

About time. 2 years too late if you ask me.

If you haven't watched the highlights to the Falcons/Rams then you owe it to yourself to see why he was fired after getting extended.

I saw the game...and yes...even with an extension...they had to do this.

It seems like the extension was just a few weeks ago, but according to Schefter, the extension was actually done in the summer and it was 1 yr with an option, basically to keep the lame duck tag off him and allow him to hire staff etc.

It was never a you're safe for 2 yrs contract extension, then fire him two month later.

What's amazing to me about Fisher is that despite only having 6 winning seasons in 22 seasons as coach, he still somehow has a winning record. 173-165-1.

Finally justice has been served

I would bet however that some team would want him as a DC

He'll get another job. The NFL is SO damn in-bred.

Rex Ryan will get another HC job after Buffalo, too.

Well there's a genetic coaching pedigree.... Or not.

Papa Jim never impressed me much.
He was a pretty good offensive coordinator for Denver after they fired Reeves. And he had some success with the Giants, even taking them to a Super Bowl. He wasn't anything special, but there's been a whole lot worse.

Giving a shitty coach who lives at the 7-9 mark a contract extension and then firing him before the extension even kicks in is the epitome what I call....

Fruitcakes, the extension was signed before the season started. The Rams were waiting for a good time announce it, but it never came because Fisher sucks. But of course Fisher's camp leaked it, as if it was just signed

He lives around the .500 mark and when he's good he's won double digits. Including a few 13-3 seasons. Every single season he's been on the plus side of ledger he's been at least 10-6.

13-3 in 99 (McNair)
13-3 in 2000 (McNair)
11-5 in 2002 (McNair)
12-4 in 2003 (McNair)
10-6 in 2007 (VY)
13-3 in 2008 (VY and Kerry Collins)

Was the extension starting this year?

Otherwise my post still stands.
