and I'm not one ( like someone else on here) that loves certain players more than the team.

If this is referring to me liking Owens then so be it. I thought he was a really good football player. I made that screen name in 2006. I never loved Owens though. I didnt lose any sleep when we cut him.

LOL nope wasnt referring to you

This is definitely a scouting department pick. I cant believe JJ would be watching too much Iowa football.

Im hoping this pick is kind of like that girl in high school that has never had a boyfriend, but there is just something about her that makes you attracted to her. You end up asking her out and then everyone begins to like her.

i think this has Martinelli all over it

Hopefully that is sign that they are really planning to run the ball & sticking to it.

No that was just stupid shit. All the defensive players left in the third round, and you are thinking o-line!!!

I think they are going to try to outscore teams,& control the clock. It is gonna take a couple of years to fix the shitty defense. Have to remember we changed schemes & it usually take 2-4 years to get the players needed, not to mention the lost year we had last year with the injuries. Dungy said from day one we didn't have the players to fit Kiffrn/Rod scheme & it would take a few years. Appears he was right & asking fans to be patient is never easy for fans to do. Especially Cowboys fan with the constant buffonary we endure from Jerry

I couldn't disagree more. This was a Jerry pick

All you have to do is go look at how much money the Bears gave Pepper to come over from Carolina to see that. 6 years 91 million with 42 guaranteed.

6'7 287 and could play either DE end spot

Vs Lawrence 6'3 ( more likely 6'2 250 Limited to only the right side and is useless against the run

So I see NOTHING similar to the type of player Rod wanted for the edge rusher of that Bears defense he ran

go even farther and look at who they put beside Sapp in that defense Simeon Rice 6'5 270

Scott Crichton was the better fit 6'3 273

Early draft grades are pointless. I remember EVERYONE giving us an A and I think it was Kiper saying we had the best draft in the NFL in 2006 with...

1. Broderick Bunkley (OK player now on 3rd team) Bad pick for top 15
2. Winston Justice (One of the top LT in draft) BUST
3. CHris Gocong (All time college sack leader 42.5 sacks in career) BUST
4. Max Jean Gilles (A top G that was a beast) BUST
4. Jason Avant Average number 3 WR.
5. Jeremy Bloom (Top return specialist) BUST

I cant say I know much about Dallas' draft but I think the 1st round pick was dead on. You have 2 stars at LT and Center. Adding a potential stud with flexibility is an excellent pick.

Team needs defensive help, bottom line. The O line is getting younger and better, so cant really go wrong there. Lawrence? I don't know. Think he'll be okay, maybe a little better than most think.

I had forgotten that we'd got Melton. He's a good player, plays hard. Only downside on him is his knee.

Do not understand the LB pick. Just a headscratcher. Also don't really understand not grabbing one of those D lineman that rolled on by. Did pick up Chris Whaley as an UDFA, who played really well last year until the knee blowout. So, at best he's a future project (if at all), not sure how soon he might be able to help.

I just don't know, overall, feel we need defensive players, good ones, not taking a late round backer in the mid rounds. But we just have to wait and see.

I watched the post draft interview ..... EVERY PLAYER we got on defense ... Including Lawrence is for rotation .... He didnt draft him to be a starter. Said he wants to cut all the D-line players amount of snaps in half
A half assed attempt to stay healthy after last year ...... Reminds me of the 2009 draft ( minus Martin) drafting for depth, situational, and special teams

Boy, I recall that draft simply because of Dallas fans being so butt hurt over how well the Eagles supposedly did in comparison to Dallas. It just goes to show what people know in the here and now.

You know true story ..... My Dad (in his 70s) wont watch a draft .... He watches games ... but the draft erks him ... ( LOL He says they make every player into a future HOFer) He does know who alot of the college guys are though ... He watches more college football than I do ( that's his thing more so than the NFL)

Asked me who we drafted .... Told me not to even be upset about Martin caause the O-line was the future of the team ... Told him we traded up and took Lawrence in the 2nd ..... He just put his hand up and didn't want to know anymore ..

Looked at me and said you know .... If I don't outlive Jerry Jones I will never see the Cowboys win a Superbowl again

says alot for a guy thats been a football fan as long as he has

It's back to the Sherman Williams days. There was even a quote in the DMN that the Cowboys ''weren't chasing starters, and instead were focusing on adding quality backups''............

It best for Jerry and Stephen to just shut the hell up. Everytime they open there mouths they say something cringingly stupid.

I love the Martin pick. Absolutely LOVE it. If we lock up Tyron long term then we have three great young guys anchoring the line and we all know that was where it all started for the Triplets...up front. If we can't lock up Tyron, then we have his replacement and aren't forced to destroy the cap if he just is set on leaving. We just set ourselves up to have one of the best o-lines in the NFL.

The rest of the draft gets an F. When we are hearing quotes DURING THE DRAFT that Jerry is telling people "we need you to be our best special teams player" that tells me Jerry just doesn't get it. I don't like waiting until the third day to address the secondary, especially when you didn't really help it out on the first two days upfront.

The offense (all dependent on Tony's back) will be crazy this year. Good thing too, because I think our defense will somehow be worse than last year.

It's pretty obvious to me now why Jerry changed scouting directors, There was talk of tension in the Cowboys War Room during the draft. Jerry has apparently hired McClay because he will let Jerry pick whoever he gets a wild hair for while reading Lindy's while taking a dump. I can see it really....''Jerry, this OLB out of ASU, Carl Bradford, will be an absolute steal for us here in the 4th!''.........''Uh, Will, I'm sure you think that, but Lindy's said he is lacking quick twitch fibers. This Hitchens Boy though, we looks quicker than a baby pig on nut cutting day in Arkansas. Send in his name!''
