Winning the Big12 regular season and conference tourney probably has a huge factor in that
Based on what? Kansas has been owning the Big 12 for 14 straight years.

Besides maybe Texas tech this year the Big 12 offered nothing. West Virginia was a tough team, but in all honesty, every time I watched a WV game on TV against some other big time team, they lost.

Based on winning it?

It is because you can't make a case for another team. You can't compare these #1 seeds historically, only based on the resumes this season. Would this particular Kansas team have been a 1 seed in 2008, definitely not. Just because a team doesn't fit the historical nature of a #1 seed doesn't mean they didn't deserve it this season. You are being a little ridiculous.
Seeding the tourney is an exercise in futility IMHO.

I also happen to believe you could put the top 12-16 teams in a hat, draw them out and do as good a job as what they attempt to do in seeding. Not a hell of a lot of difference in the last first #3 seed and the last #1 seed IMO.

If they really knew EXACTLY what they were doing, it would follow chalk the whole way.

Again, if that is ridiculous, so be it.

80% of the conference was ranked in the kenpom top 50. The Big XII is not a weak conference.

There isn't a lot of difference between the first 3 seed and the last 1 seed. I'll agree with you there, because both are top 10 teams and capable of winning the tournament. But if you think Michigan State DESERVED a #1 seed this year, that's ridiculous. There's a difference.

I hear what you are saying about comparing the teams among the years...but it still ain't ridiculous in the least. Sparty was 29-4...and granted, some of them weren't quality wins. But nearly every team had some of those. But, as it turns out, Michigan State was about as deserving as all the rest of the #1s, #2s and #3s...sans Nova, Kansas and Michigan.

Michigan State had 2 wins over tourney teams. Only 2 quality wins in 33 games. Not deserving of a seed higher than they got

Yeah, remember when Oklahoma was the full coverage of sports media shows for like a month and how Trae Young was the next great one?

As it turns out, late February and March is when you find out how good teams and conferences really are, the Big12 fizzled.

They had 30% of their conference in the Sweet 16..

lmao, they had more teams in the S16 than the Pac-12 had in the Round of 64.

They got favorable seedings, again for being thought to be a tough conference, but were weak overall.

Until the Big12 builds another prominent basketball power (Um hello Texas?) Then Kansas should never be higher than a 2 seed.

40% of the conference in the Sweet 16 (or 25% of the Sweet 16 field)...Kansas, K-State, Texas Tech and West Virginia.

And Villanova is theBig East AND the Big 12 champion...they beat West Virginia, Texas Tech and Kansas consecutively.

30% in the Sweet 16, Hell, 60% of the conference made the tournament. It's easy to pad records when you only have 10 teams in your conference.

You had 60% of your teams in the tournament.

Well, Texas and Oklahoma probably didn't belong...but, neither did several other conferences' middling teams.

Only 4 teams in the big12 had winning conference records.

This dominant conference had 3 teams with less than 12 losses on the year. Only one of those teams (Kansas) had single digits in the loss column.

You want to disagree with big12 getting favorable seedings?

TCU 9-9 in conference, 21-12 overall got a 6 seed and got the winner of a play-in game....Deserving seed there
