1. Villanova
2. Kansas
3. Michigan
4. Loyola-Chicago

Who you got?

I say Villanova over Kansas, Michigan over Loyola, and Villanova repeats.
Well, I picked these prior to the tournament so I'll go with the only two that made it. Fuck Kentucky and Sparty!

"South -Kentucky
West - Michigan
East - Villanova

Midwest - Michigan State

I apologize to the fans of any of these teams. I just put the voodoo hex on all of you by picking them.

Bet the farm on anybody except these four."

Villanova is closer to being a blue blood than Michigan is. In reality, both Villanova and Michigan aren't anywhere close to being blue bloods.

They aren't in my mind.

UNC, Duke, UCLA, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky.

Arizona and UConn are borderline. Michigan State too.

Villanova (-5) against Kansas, the same odds for Michigan versus Loyola. Surprising to say the least.

Would love to see Michigan play Villanova. Nova's one of my favorite schools and I was a huge fan of the Scottie Reynolds/Allan Ray teams. Kansas is cool too.

Congrats to any Loyola-Chicago fans on here. What an awesome run for you guys. Hoping for a great game. Go Blue. :)

I am not sure the "once a blue blood, always a blue blood" sticks. UCLA and Indiana not so much in the past few years.

Not that much, the way Loyola plays they are more likely (win or lose) to have a close games.

I am not sure the "once a blue blood, always a blue blood" sticks. UCLA and Indiana not so much in the past few years.

UCLA still has the most titles and pretty much twice as anybody else, so they're a blueblood for the forseeable future. Plus, they can still get 5 star guys really easily. It's just a question of getting the right coach/mix of players.

Indiana is in a little bit of trouble, they've gotta get the program going, otherwise I agree, they might be a thing of the past. At least another 10 years though.

I think Michigan takes out Loyola but they put up a fight. Single digit game. Same with Nova over Kansas and Nova tops Michigan in a good title game.

Let' be fair about Loyola's Championship and UCLA under Wooden. Both were excellent accomplishments but UCLA's run was in a different time and setting. For some of the run there were only 24 teams (with a first round bye) and for some only 32. The Regions were very much geographical in set up (East, Mideast, Midwest and West). UCLA was the only long run dominate team in the west for a long time. The power resided in the East and Mideast along with Kansas in the Midwest. The road to the final four was (while not denigrating UCLA) much easier. The other regions were much more of a meat grinder, not just for the NCAAs but the regular season. Wooden was genius for getting a dominant team ready for the final four while not having much competition. They had minimal injuries and did not get worn out. Seven of the top teams would often be bunched in the EAST as opposed to being sent out across the country as 2 and 3 seeds. Kind of similar to the World Series (Yankees), NFL (Bears, Giants, Packers and Red Skins) , NBA (Celtics) and NHL (Canadians) before expanded playoffs.
If Blue Bloods are forever based on success over the entirety of their existence, in football you would have Army, Navy, Fordam, and the University of Chicago in the mix. In basketball you would have San Francisco and CCNY (before the scandal) in the mix.
Suffice to say current blue bloods should be judged by accomplishments over the last 20 years.

UCLA won almost 20 years ago and they've been in the Final 4 a bunch of times and produced a bunch of UCLA players. So, they've got some modern relevance.

Don't follow them close enough, so I accept the information at face value. Not trying to eliminate anyone, just hoping teams deserve the accolades if they are given.

I don't think UCLA would be the kingpin to the degree they once were under today's college structure. There's a whole lot of reasons why but that isn't to tarnish one of the most remarkable college basketball "franchises" ever. It compares favorably to Oklahoma football in the 50s when they won 47 in a row. It's hard to do that.

Loyola has earned 5 units for the tournament, or about $8.2 million for the MVC, split up to about $140,000 for each member school annually over the next 6 years.
