Kicks off tomorrow with Boise State and Penn State. Next 3 games on New Year's Day.

Is it fully set for a Big 10/SEC showdown in the Semi-Finals, or will Boise State, Arizona State, or Notre Dame pull the upset?

Outside of Notre Dame/Georgia, the wagering lines are pretty heavily leaning towards it happening.

If I was betting I'd take the favorites including Georgia.

I think it will be PSU, OSU, Georgia, and Texas.

I’m picking Penn St, Texas, Oregon and ND. I think Oregon/OSU is a toss up and the winner is the favorite to win it all. I also think Boise has a chance against Penn St because I just don’t have a lot of confidence in James Franklin in big games. I think Texas and ND should win.

I’m not huge into college football, so if it’s obvious, then I don’t know, but why is everyone sleeping on Boise state? I didn’t see their game against Oregon, but they were a last second field goal away from OT with the undisputed #1 college football team going into the playoffs. Why is PSU pretty much expected to win by everyone?

Bottom line
They play in a lesser conference, sos. Isn’t even close to Psu. Psu has a highly ranked defense.

Is this going to be the discussion thread for the quarterfinal games?

I think they are a good team.
Jeanty is awesome.

I just think psu defense is going to slow them down.

Good call. I thought Noise State had a chance. Penn State was gifted the SMU/Boise bracket and they took care of business.

Oregon/Ohio State should be another dandy. Tough to beat a good team twice, but I think Oregon gets it done.

Jawja/Notre Dame is a tough one. I think Jawja can overcome not having Beck. All comes down to whether Notre Dame can run the ball effectively. Effectively being they can't have 12 carries for 28 yards, and then bust one for 50 and end up with 198 yards with 2 runs accounting for 100 of it. Notre Dame needs consistent 3 to 5 yard runs and keep ahead of the down and distance. Gonna go with Jawja in this one. Think they are still just better on the OL/DL and can grind one out over the Irish.

Texas got the other layup bracket. They have zero reason not to whip Arizona State today.

I think AZST beats Texas

That's really the only possible upset left after PSU won

No one would be surprised if ND or Oregon wins so i don't really consider those upsets even if UGA and OSU are very slight favorites

But Texas has just been so blah the past few months. I have only watched ASU a few times but they poetically have at least 2 wins that are better than anyone Texas has beaten this year so i think that line is kind of insane and would 100,% take that many points if i were wagering

Eh. We’ll see. If OSU plays like they did against Tennessee, Organ is going down.

I have zero doubt Ohio State is the more talented team. Oregon has been damn resilient this year, and I simply can't trust Will Howard in a game that will likely be decided in the 4th quarter.

The week before that Idaho pulled within 3 of Oregon in the fourth before eventually losing by 10. My point is, Oregon wasn't clicking at all at the beginning of the season when they played the Broncos, so I discounted how close that game was.

Didn't pay to be a top-4 seed did it? These are some kick ass matchups.

(5)Texas (13-2) vs (8)Ohio St (12-2)
(6)Penn St (13-2) vs (7)Notre Dame (13-1)

Now, what if they simply seeded the teams as they were in the rankings instead of the whole top-4 conference champs and so forth?

(1)Oregon (13-0)*
(2)Georgia (11-2)*
(3)Texas (11-2)
(4)Penn St (11-2)

(12)Clemson (10-3)* @ (5)Notre Dame (11-1)
(11)Arizona St (11-2)* @ (6)Ohio St (10-2)
(10)SMU (11-2) @ (7)Tennessee (10-2)
(9)Boise St (12-1)* @ (8)Indiana (11-1)

This probably needs to come to fruition.

Harvey Keitel in National Treasure............. "Well, how about now?"

I'd post the meme, but you have to have a special license to do that now...........

Didn't pay to be a conference winner or have a bye this season. That might not hold true in other years.
