This is a perfect overview!!!Here's my surprised face
And skip had him batting in the 3 hole the entire 1st half of the season when we were struggling to win games.
Imagine that thought process
If not for the Mariners ... very VERY unlikely Ty France is on any other MLB 25 man roster ( much less a starting position player )
Reasons to DFA him after this season or trade him for a bucket of batting practice baseballs:
1. He is league worst defensive 1st baseman
2. He is league worst (or near ) worst offensive production 1b in MLB with near 600 at bats
3. You cannot use him as a pinch runner off the bench ( why would you ever use him to pinch hit either )
4. cannot even field his primary position 1b, so obviously is impossible to sub any other 7 player positions
5. Who needs a pinch hitter who bats .245 with barely warning track power and rolls over on so many double play balls it boggles ones mind
6. a ( reason he has zero power ) - with such a large lower half ... he uses none of his legs or hips to drive the ball
He needs to GO stat!
On social media sure, but also every major sports show in country for at least two days talked about it. None of the local stations (at least that I heard) or any of the national shows/podcasts even mentioned Snell. If by "big deal" you mean some of the biggest names in baseball history yapped about it on social media for a day, sure. Most of them are "old school" though. And Kirby and the guys he pays to represent him thought it was important enough to call in a favor at a major publication to put out this ridiculous puff piece.
