If I were to use a Star Wars analogy is I think Jerry thinks of himself as Yoda from Episode I and II but he is more of Yoda in III where for all of the great things he has done, he can’t beat the Emperor with his philosophy.

That's excellent and I completely agree. Jerry is blinded by his own arrogance.
