Yea what a loser,

1st of all Griffey pinch hit for him and got a hit in the midst of a comeback rally in the 9th inning to win that game

2nd of all Figgins was hitting .190 at that point and he is shocked he got pinch hit for??

The right thing to do would be to come out and say "the M's paid me a lot money to be a team leader and I couldnt get the job done." Clearly he chose to blame his struggles on being pinch hit for once.

What really sucks is that this happened in his first regular season week on the team. It really makes you question what kind of effort he put in after that if you weren't already questioning that.

Makes you question his character. The guy gives up within one week of signing a 4 year contract with a new team because they pinch hit for him? What an asshole.

I am completely surprised "Donkey" is still in the MLB.

For those that listen to Mitch in the morning, you might get it......

I don't listen KJR very often, but I'm going to guess it was a radio-friendly way of referring to Figgins as a jackass?

Well this article reassures what I felt back then of him and confirms that he to this day is still a "tool"...

Would any reporter give the time and effort on this guy?

No. Mitch thought Figgins' smile was similar to "Donkey" in the movie "Shrek".

He is and always will be a whining little bitch.

He couldn't even make it through spring training with miami last year, that's how awful he is.

I can't wait to see the headline where he's cut from the Dodgers. It would almost be better to see him as a utility man, though.

Wow just wow. That sums up Figgins and his time in Seattle in a nutshell, doesn't it. The guy has serious denial about his ability to play the game but that is completely outrageous. You hit like a bum and get pulled for a 600HR HOFer and the team is wrong? Maybe instead of "giving up" after being pinch hit for, he could have worked harder at his craft and not been put in that position again. Him and Albert Haynesworth should take their ill-gotten millions and disappear to some island and get drunk all day together. I'm so happy he is some other teams problem.

Yea I would rather have an outfield of Saunders, Ackley and Hart then have this guy anywhere near the Mariners. I wish baseball contracts were like football ones sometimes so we could have just cut him after the first year.
