I think we have a legitimate chance to sneak one against Portugal. Slowing down Ronaldo will be the key.

Unfortunately right back is the weakest position on the US team. Hard to figure who they could play there that Ronaldo wouldn't make lunch out of.

If we lose to Ghana we are done. A tie isn't that terrible because I think Portugal is beatable. Somehow someway we need to have at least 4 points heading into the final match with Germany

S.I. picked Argentina to win it all over Brazil in the final. I can understand why they did. I mean Messi is great, but I'm not sold on Argentina's defense or goalkeeper one bit.

Totally.....Argentina is incredibly top-heavy. Probably the best attack in the world, but other than Zabaleta they don't really have defenders of note. On the other hand, Brazil has solid players (and depth) at every position.

Crazier things have happened, but I agree that we need 4 points to have any hope of going on.

I have faith in Klinsmann, but who knows what will happen.

I can understand the odds cuz Argentina hit the jackpot in terms of competition en route to the final... although I cant see them beating Germany...even if its in South America.

6 gets you through for sure. 5 and goal differential gives you a decent chance.

Five points is very realistic imo. If we can contain Ronaldo I like our chances. That's probably going to involve getting chippy with him and getting him frustrated. We need Cherundolo in his prime at right back for this one.
