I knew they would tear down, remodel some parks,
But I couldn't afford to just take off to the East Coast to watch BB.

Now I'm older.

Would loved to have seen...…
1) Yankee Stadium. But it is still basically the same???? Yes or No?
2) Tiger Stadium, the overhang in RF.
3) Cleveland Stadium. Not really. Jacobs Field (Or whatever today)

Have Seen
4) Rockies Stadium was one of the first and one of the nicest. Loved it. Probably outdated now.
5) The Kingdome. Local Love. Hitters Park. Ask McGwire about Johnson HR. I was there. WOW.
6) Safeco, now T-Mobile. Beautiful Park. I recommend.
7) Atlanta's Stadium. Saw in 2015. Nice, but now there is a New Stadium.
8) Houston. Nice Park, very nice.
9) Dodger Stadium, just another old stadium, but a must see.
10) A's, blah...…..walk back to hotel was scary, night game. Never again.
11) Candlestick, Fucking Cold in July, rain, shitty game. Thankfully, never again.
12) New SF Park, AT&T, yes? Beautiful. Had a tour on non game day too. Wonderful. 3X
13) AZ, Ok.

The new Yankee Stadium isn't like the old in a few ways. In the old Stadium the upper deck hung over the Loge and was much closer to the field. The Bleachers were also separate (Separate entrance and no way to get into the rest of the stadium) and much closer to the field. Much better amenities now but no where near as loud as the old stadium, especially in the playoffs. The place used to shake when the crowd went nuts, the new one, which seats 5000 people less doesn't. Also, they put that awful sports bar with the black glass over monument park so now it's more monument cave.

I was in the upper deck when Mattingly went deep in the '95 ALDS.

No shit, I thought there was a very good chance the place was going to collapse-it was shaking and swaying that much.

I was at all 3 World Series Games in 2001 in the loge. I thought the upper deck was going to fall on us in games 4 and 5. Was at the WS clincher in 1999 and Cone's perfect game that year too. Insanely loud. Went to the ALCS clincher in 2009 and game 2 of the WS. Wasn't remotely as loud and very little shaking.

I'm gonna guess Paul Splittorf

That was back when they played ALCS games in the afternoon. I was in grade school, and I remember getting the updates.

"Brett homered" Ah shit

"Brett homered again" WTF?

"Damn, he did it again" Nooooo!

And the Yanks still won the game. Good times.

I just looked it up, Splittorf started, and they brought in the righty Bird to face Munson.

The rest is beautiful history.

Still my favorite baseball season of all time.

I've been to 30 MLB Ball parks, but I have not been to Fenway yet. Spent the Summer of 1981 in Boston, but it was a strike year! As far as Parks, I am partial to a few: Wrigley before the renovations (lived in Chicago for 5 seasons), G.A.B.P. (nicely located, fan friendly newer park on the Ohio River) and Anaheim Stadium (Location, location, location!) and Stade Olympique in Montreal (just love the misfit stadium!).

Of the newer parks, I think Atlanta's Sun Trust Park is superb! New Yankee Stadium is very nice too, but just like old Yankee Stadium, the location sucks. Of the stadiums that are no longer with us, I loved Baltimore's Memorial Stadium (best crabcakes in the world), Tiger Stadium in Detroit and Old Busch Stadium in St. Louis. The Vet in Philadelphia was the worst stadium ever, but it was a fun trip.

Here is the list of stadiums I have been to in person with the last game I attended:

01. G.A.B.P.: Dodgers @ Reds 09/12/2018

02. Progressive Field: Mariners @ Indians 04/28/2018

03. SunTrust Park: Marlins @ Braves 05/17/2017

04. Stade Olympique (Montreal): Reds vs. Blue Jays 04/04/2015

05. New Yankee Stadium: Reds @ Yankees 07/29/2014

06. Camden Yards: Reds @ Orioles 06/25/2011

07. Anaheim Stadium: MLB All-Star Game 07/13/2010

08. PNC Park: Reds @ Pirates 08/22/2009

09. Comerica Park: Royals @ Tigers 08/31/2008

10. Rogers Centre: Cubs @ Blue Jays 06/13/2008

11. Oakland Coliseum: Tigers @ A’s 09/02/2007

12. Wrigley Field: Phillies @ Cubs 08/02/2007

13. Turner Field: Dodgers @ Braves 05/06/2007

14. Old Busch Stadium: Cubs @ Cardinals 07/23/2005

15. Safeco Field: Royals @ Mariners08/29/2004

16. AT&T Park: Cubs @ Giants 08/07/2004

17. Riverfront-Cinergy Field: Padres @ Reds 08/10/2002

18. Dodger Stadium: Phillies @ Dodgers 09/03/2000

19. The Ballpark at Arlington: Twins @ Rangers 08/02/1999

20. Veterans Stadium: Cubs @ Phillies 07/04/1999

21. Tiger Stadium: Mariners @ Tigers 08/08/1998

22. New Comiskey Park: Royals @ White Sox 07/11/1998

23. Candlestick Park: Braves @ Giants 07/27/1996

24. County Stadium: Red Sox @ Brewers 05/08/1993

25. Kingdome: White Sox @ Mariners 10/2/1992

26. Royals-Kaufman Stadium: Indians @ Royals 07/15/1992

27. Metrodome: Indians @ Twins 06/08/1991

28. Old Yankee Stadium: Red Sox @ Yankess 09/30/1987

29. Memorial Stadium: Mariners @ Orioles 05/29/1987

I was in grade school too. Back in those days, they would wheel in a TV and we would watch it in class.

Also liked GABP a lot

01. G.A.B.P.: Dodgers @ Reds 09/12/2018

Good to see the hitters backyard getting some love.

I haven't been to a game though since the Astros were in the Central ( 15 years ago I think? I was young ), so it's been awhile. This might be the year I might try and go to a couple.

Same here about the Astros. I haven't seen them since 2011 when they were still in the NL Central. fyi: The Astros are coming back to Cincinnati this year!

remember this, @nynasty

Francis - didn't you say that you bought your son a car stereo at best buy once? Did they do the install? How'd that work out? Not sure I trust those dopes to do much, but not a lot of options out there.

That, and gotta be honest . . . most of the non premium seats are pretty freaking cramped. And I'm not even a fatty.

Yes and they installed it. We didn't have any problems with them.

We had to schedule it way in advance and they had to order some extra supplies. It was a 20 year old car though, which was probably the main issue. Like you said though, there arent a lot of options out there. At least you can hang out in Best buy or the adjoining businesses while they install it.

I've been to 22 Stadiums total, 17 current stadiums. Fenway is a cool place to visit. There is a lot of history there and just being there is exciting.

With that said, I am so glad it is not my home team's ballpark. The sight lines suck balls, the seats are too close together and I have wider hallways in my house, than the concourses there.
