Hey, to each his own.
:car:

You see all kinds of classics down here in the winter. The seasonals only put a couple k miles on a car each year and there's no corrosion. With that in mind, I haven't seen ANY old Datsuns around. The 280 is really nice and, from what I've seen, pretty easy to work on. I'm surprised I haven't seen any. Are they that rare or something? I remember them everywhere when I was a little kid.

I did some research looking for one for sale and the closest one I found in good shape was in Colorado. I could go to a trailer park and buy a late 80s Nissan right now probably LOL. I want one from late 60s and make it my own.

Really? I haven't seen any from the 80s around at all. That looks like a pretty easy restoration for a weekend driver car too. Maybe that's because they didn't make a convertible and those are preferred down here in the winter.

That may be, but Honda has been solid as long since before I can remember. Ill stick with the accord as far as cars go.

The first Hondas I remember seeing in the very late 60's and early 70's were junk. Even the Japanese called them "crunch punchies" because an aluminum can would dent the hell out them.

We're not talking about the 60s and early 70s are we?

Why not? People talking about 66 Mustangs and 68 Camaros in this thread...wasn't really until the mid-70s or so that Japanese cars really became anything to brag about.

I'm talking about if I were to go out and buy a new car today.

That's like talking about how awesome the classic charger was as justification for buying a new one. They're completely different vehicles.

Speaking of favorite cars. They're coming out with a brand new model of one of the best japanese sports cars ever. The Acura NSX

The supra is the only one you named that is on par with the NSX.

I would say the NSX, Supra, Skyline and the OP's favorite, the Datsun 240z are all at about the same level.

All epicly good japanese sports cars.

s2000's are awesome cars. I once rode in a supercharged S2000 at a racing event and those things just pull and pull and pull.
