Huh. I always liked this guy. If the Vikings re-sign Aaron Jones and sign him for a backup, I wouldn't be unhappy.

Saints released RB Jamaal Williams.

Williams ends his Saints career with just 154 carries for 470 yards and two touchdowns in two seasons with the team. He took more than 20 snaps in just four games with New Orleans last year between injuries and the rise of Kendre Miller late in the season. Williams is entering his age-30 season and could make for a reasonable backup for a team that wants a goal-line grinder to spell a back who can stay on the field on third down. The release frees up $1.59 million in cap space for the Saints, meaning they only need to find another $45 million in cuts or restructures to be cap compliant. Easy.
He really gambled on himself and lost two years ago. Was in an amazing position with Detroit, but thought he was worth more.

Heavy rumors point toward Patriots and DK syncing up, personally think he'd be awesome fit for Packers if they're serious about wanting an alpha WR

My opinion is that there arent enough good WR. As well as teams needing a good WR. Andy Reid could shed his Rice headache (as well as the ad hoc WR) and go after Metcalf too.

Mahommes to Metcalf would be amazing... imagine the cheetah back in KC, but with about 6 inches and 45 lbs added, maybe .04 seconds slower.

Seems like a luxury. I don't know. Chiefs had a chance to draft Metcalf and traded up for Mecole Hardman.

Christian Kirk if he is cheap? That sounds like a KC move

For fantasy purposes, id like to see Metcalf go to a QB that's been a gun slinger the last 2 seasons, not the guy that used to sling it back in '22

Or is this another reference to the Packers?

IDK. i think metcalf is basically QB proof... the only thing the better QB will do is the potential score more... but that might not even be true... he is just so strong, i dont think QB matters for him... and the worse the QB is the worse the team is probably... so garbage time...

i dont think it is the QB that affects him... but the team... a run first offense is going to max his potential... a lot like it was in seattle...

He's QB proof in that he will be productive regardless, but better QB, better system, better production.
And it won't take much to be better than Geno last year

My comment was more of a dig at Mahomes than it was a knock against DK's talent.

But you mention that he's QB proof.... not sure the stats agree with you, but I get it. He's huge and fast and can take it to the house any given touch but he comes from the Amari Cooper school of disappearing most weeks then balling out a few times per season.

Fun fact: over the last 3 seasons, DK Metcalf number of weeks scoring as WR12 or better in ppr = 7
Number of weeks scoring as the WR60 or worse also = 7
