the whole thing just sucks though ya know? Christ I remember my early 20's..thank God I didn't get caught, and thank God even more, that I didn't kill anyone, multiple times. But you know what? the repair bills didn't stop me form doing it again, and again, neither did a little fine here, or there, nor the restitution for the sign I ran over..nope.

What stopped me from being a fucking idiot was a judge finally putting me in my place, and the weekend in jail he gifted me.

I pray someone in the Justice system of Texas and/or Goodell does the right thing by this young man
That was a different time man. They can't do that now because it might hurt somebody's feelings.

Aaaaannd now they found weed in the car, over 10 grams which is not really that much for the group of people they had but way more than the lovely state of TX wants to see on anyone.

The layers keep getting peeled back here, still just a ton of smoke that some fines for Rice and maybe a friend taking a fall for him can't brush under the rug
10 grams is a felony in TX. (That’s a lite half oz)

It’s his car, which makes it his weed.

Yea.. his attorney said that, to the public, before the public knew there was a potential for a felony.

I'd be talking about taking full accountability and gladly paying everyone's damages and medical bills too, if I felt doing so would make a DA forget about that felony charge

Just a misdemeanor in TX, Google is your friend
I did Google.

Says anything over 7grams is a felony with mandatory jail time.

It’d only be a misdemeanor here. But weed is legal. Still illegal in a car though. Unless it’s in the trunk.

This is where I'm getting confused. Googled as well and got two different sides of the story.

This is the problem with an incident like this happening this time of year. We have nothing else to talk about until the NFL draft. I've read more about weed laws in the different states than I ever hoped to on a fantasy football message board. LOL. I am looking forward to the live podcast that the Kelce's are doing from the University of Cincinnati's stadium on the 11th though. Hopefully the Chiefs draft a receiver in the 1st round just to screw with everybody's thought process.

On a different note, I was sad to see that Peter King retired. I always read his Football Morning in America article each week. He was a great writer and had a lot of NFL insights.
