Only because Snell hasn't proved he can handle the receiving role yet. I fully expect Snell & McFarland to be the only contributors by midseason with Conner operating as the lead. Honestly when comparing styles, that the only difference between Snell & Samuels is receiving versatility. Once Snell proves it there isn't much of a need for Samuels.

Most likely. If McFarland can master every facet of the RB game then look out. Kid could become somethin special. His burst & change of direction skills are phenomenal. Sounds like Tomlin has been puttin him through the ringer in backs-on-backers to get him accustomed to the blocking at the NFL level.
