The NL MVP races were pretty stacked in the early 2000's, especially 2004. 7 guys with 8+ WAR (two of them finished 16th and 19th, one of them being on a 111 loss team). Bonds, Beltre, Pujols, Rolen, Drew, Helton and Randy Johnson. Edmonds and Big Z also had over 7 WAR. NL had five guys with 6+ WAR seasons while the AL only had 5.
