Fallout 76

I'll be waiting a while before I make a decision on it, but man this game just sounds like griefing will be 100000000000x worse than GTA V.

Seeing both Fallout and Diablo essentially commit harikari within months of each other is disheartening. Both franchises were awesome and worth buying day 1 (I wasn’t a huge D3 fan, but D2 was good enough to allow a slight misfire)

Agreed.

IPs rise. IPs fall.

I think both franchises will be back but you're seeing a huge split in the video game market. Solo content is getting much better and multiplayer content is getting much worse.

While 8 am not totally sold on RDR just yet, I think it has taken the mantle of “Best Solo Franchise” from Fallout. Hopefully FO gets up off the canvas and puts up a fight with a future FO6.

RDR2 is probably going to end up taking the mantle if/when it hits PC. It needs the keyboard and mouse and it needs some people to work on some gameplay patches to speed up animations. Everything else is 10/10.

Sony and Nintendo have seen the value in single-player games. Everything from Breath of the Wild to Spider-man has made a ton of cash lately.

Good vid, but his bleeping is pretty funny. He seems to think “Shit” is always a bad work, but “fuck” is only bad about 1/3 of the time.

Despite the horrible reviews on this game, I might still eventually get it... when it's on sale for like $20 or if it is gifted to me. The primary/only reason is because it's a game my wife and I have interest in playing together cooperatively.

Right now we still play a lot of GTA Online together and are still mid-story in cooperative Far Cry 5 - which should easily last us another several months. If Red Dead's online play is worth anything, we might skip FO76 altogether.

I’d say that Battlefield V is going to give it a good run for that title.

I'm actually not too familiar with that franchise but I do hear that its having two issues regarding adding women to make the genre more alternate reality war instead of war and it has a Destiny problem with content coming out too slowly. I think it fundamentally works as a game, though.

Fallout 76 took a game made for single-player and tried to make it a multiplayer game and its just jank. I'm a fan of Witcher 3, for example, but I'd never play a multiplayer game based on it combat system. Fallout is the same thing, imo.

That is exactly the issue there are some games that are just known for having a great story and adventure with just a role player type. Like God of War or Last of us and like you said Witcher 3 but there is so much money to be made online. Call of Duty which was known for their story decided to just do away with it and focus on online play.

Not many companies can pull off a great singleplayer and multiplayer game, like Rockstar.
Most can either do one or the other, while others can't do either and just rely on consumer's forced monopoly like EA.

Also heard the endgame and pvp are pointless

Bethesda games are always glitchy so adding in bandwidth and countless variables in online gameplay it's no shock it's bugged out. Shame too.

Yup. I will never play this game. I never played ESO, either.

Gawd, I hope Bethesda learned their lesson and abandons MMO.

I would not mind a multiplayer in which if you have your friends exploring checking things out but having a ton of people running around at the same time building settlements and BSing is a mess

Allowing private servers, like Minecraft, would be fine. But that isn’t mmo.
