I am sure the money offered will dictate how good of coach we get. The ginger has mentors
like Alvarez and Oz (oh crap) to help him out. I'll sit the fence on this as it could go either way. And a win at Iowa kills the topic as we could get to 10 wins this year. HISEC you and I are close in age and saw the 70's & 80's when OZ couldn't win the big one or two or three so you know if Oz is brought in to talk to boosters, he could talk them off the ledge - unless an ultimatum has been given to Bo already - sorry another long rant that most of you will ignore.
Not even ignored.
Twas a good read and as legit a thought as any.
A win at Iowa would actually be 9 wins and that's where I assume Eichorst would make his overall evaluation and comment. It's an example he's already committed to. "Prior Practice" if you will.
From November 30th. 2013 after the 38-17 loss to Iowa.
“My approach has always been to not comment publicly about our coaches until their full seasons are complete, as I strongly believe it is unfair and counter to best practices. However, given the volume of unfounded speculation and conjecture about our head football coach, I want to reaffirm what I have said many times since I have arrived at the University of Nebraska — that I positively respect, appreciate and support our football student-athletes, coaches and staff, as we do everyone in the Husker family. We very much look forward to our upcoming bowl game and Coach Pelini continuing to lead our program in the future.” - Eichorst
Very similar situation here. (8-3) going INTO the Iowa game. Potential (8-4) coming out and when we'll know. 9 wins would actually be an improvement from last years evaluation.
The media will ride the department like a rented mule if he doesn't make comment until after the bowl game. Major distraction.
