Devils need some guys to step up and replace Parise's production. Hopefully Henrique can get healthy and be that guy, Clarkson, Zubrus, Josefson all need to start chipping in as well. Kovalchuk, Elias and Zajac will have to do the heavy lifting. Even without Parise we still roll 4 solid lines, have plenty of depth on the blue line and have Marty in net so why not ECF and beyond?

Wings: Just making the playoffs, for the first time in many seasons I find this to be a major issue.

To make that happen, Jimmy Howard is going to have to be exceptional. It will be several weeks into the season before the defense is sorted out. Jimmy is going to see a lot of shots, he starts out solid and plays extremely well then it's possible. And hopefully out of the young d-men someone picks up this chance and runs with it, I'm guessing it will be Smith.

if the wings can manage to put up a ton of goals like they have the potential of doing, i think they will be able to make the playoffs even with sub par defense.

Just very concerned, if the D isn't playing well right out of the gate, Jimmy is going to need to be big early on, something we wings fans aren't used to, a goalie needing to stop tons of shots.

Well Nino Niederreiter wasn't invited to Isles training camp. Garth wants him to spend the year in Bridgeport. He also said if Strome makes the team he will be a top 6 forward or go back to Niagara.

My expectations are very low. The Isles just doesn't have the depth on defense or up front to get it done on a nightly basis.
