I rememeber a Minnesota North Stars - Toronto Maple Leafs game in the late 70's or early 80's that had a similar scene...

Oddly enough, though, when he finally goes back toward the crease, the puck pops out to where he just was and the Flyers score.

But yes, it's odd when the guy farthest away from your net is the goalie.

I think I've found the best way to describe this play to somebody who can't see the replay or pics of it.

See, the car is the net. I'd say the Penguins were the clowns, but that'd be redundant.

BUUUUUUUUUUUURN.

I figured he thought the puck was covered & the ref would blow the whistle when he could not see the puck anymore. Keystone Penguins for sure.

The North Stars goalies made it a tradition to not be anywhere near the net when the action was.

Nice to see today's players showing some respect to those great Norris division teams of my childhood.

I was expecting a penalty shot to be the result of that play but I guess the goal works as well.

That was a group of little kids during an intermission and not the real players wasn't it? I hope?

Side note: sometimes during intermissions at Habs games they send Gionta, Desharnais, and Gallagher out with the kids. No one has noticed yet.

Agreed. I was actually hoping for it because he would have had a chance. Too many cooks in the kitchen..

mis-communication

before the game speech
Blysma-"Tomas,you're starting, step it up tonight.I want you to be able to look at yourself in the mirror and say,I did my best!"

what Tomas interpreted-I am to step out and look at myself.
