Disappointed only because with so few picks in 23 draft keeping him one more year we could get by on D. So we could focus only on O side. Not surprised though I fully expected him out either this year or next.

If he's angry because the Broncos fired his buddy Hackett, then he's insane anyway.

Exactly. Hackett should have been fired after week 8. Earlier even. Anyone who can't see this is blinded by personal biases.

Maybe his friendship to Hackett was just a convenient excuse. I would bet a bag of donuts there were other issues in play.

Interesting that he DID interview for the HC gig though.

I think bridges were burned on both sides. He rejected the interim position out of a weird sense of loyalty, then the back and forth almost made this the only option.

Much like Kellen Moore, he wasn’t unemployed for long.

And this is part of the reason why I am not penciling in the SB for the broncos in 2023. Change of coach is going to have an affect on defense. Not to mention limited draft picks.

I liked Evero, but I'm much more sanguine about him leaving than most around here.

This needs to be Sean Payton's team - his defense needs to compliment his offense - all players need to work the new culture together for it to succeed.

I don’t disagree. Get a complete flush on last year.

Regarding Evero, something just feels odd about his last couple months with the Broncos. I wonder if we’ll ever know the whole story.

Coordinators are hard because you want someone that will be good, but you also want someone to stick around for a while and usually the great ones don’t.

How many of our defensive FA’s follow Evero. Singleton played lights out in his system. Arguably the best year of his career.

Evero's system was built off the Fangio system. Most new coordinators rely on their teachers for a few years before ever making something their own. Some never take that step. Considering Desai is heavily on our radar as a Fangio disciple, losing Evero isn't going to hurt us that much. A lot to do with the roster too.
