12 team money league where the winner wins up to $600 depending on transactions, divisional wins, All Star game wins (winning division gets a certain %), high score ($10 a pop), wins (+$3) and losses (-$5). So here is the issue. I have Arian Foster, Ben Tate, Doug Martin, Shane Vereen, DMC and Gore (bye). I have to start 2 of these guys. League rules state that the wire closes 5 minutes before the Thursday Night game. Teams who do not field a legit lineup by that time are fined $10 for the first offense and it doubles every other time (not worried about the money part; I have never fielded an illegal lineup). Now as far as the rules go if Foster or Tate haven't been declaired out by the time the wire closes I'm within the rules and if they are ruled out I will have no problem dropping Vereen (well, I'll be really bummed but I'll do it). Here is the issue: We have 3 divisions and the top 2 teams in each go to the playoffs. Usually under our payout structure any team making the playoffs will come close to breaking even. 2 of the 3 divisions are already close to being set (I know it's early but injuries have really killed a lot of teams) but of course, I play a guy who is 3-5 but only 1 game out of the playoffs and 2 out of the division lead. Now, it's only Wednesday but the outlook for Foster/Tate is not too bright from what I've seen. To make it worse there is absolutely nothing on the wire that would get me even 5 points. So, what is the right thing to do here? If I drop Vereen he will get picked up. Not dropping Martin as this is a keeper. If I lose to this guy by 2-3 points I could screw that whole division. I can afford (I think) a loss. So what would you do? Gun to my head I do not think Foster or Tate will play. Thoughts?

nobody else besides Vereen to drop?

I say do what's best for your team. Don't worry about screwing up the division. You can justify your (non) moves by saying what you said here...you'd rather Vereen than a one week spot start off waivers, which is bare. Also, maybe you throw it out there early about your situation and request a deal of some sort, in which case, if it doesn't go through, you have your "out" and can say you tried to field a roster...

Yeah, I tried to make a deal for Stacy. I have 4 WR's right now and I have to play all 4. I have Kaps and JT80 on bye so the only guys to drop would be either Kaps, JT or one of the RB's not named DMC. Man, this week is hell! Think my lineup this week sucks you should see the other guy....................lol.

I don't see anything unethical, you want to keep Vereen, which is understandable, and aren't intentionally throwing the week, just looking towards the future.

Why exactly do you need to have a final roster by Thursday night anyway?
