ESPN league I am thinking of trading Cueto

With Cliff Lee coming back I have him and Shields leading my top group. And in the last week I have added Degrom, Quintana, Walker, and Odorrizi. I already have Buccholz, Colon, Chen, and Cole(on DL). I also have two set-ups in Motte and Broxton along with my two closers. Basically I have 9 starting pitchers(10 if counting Cueto) plus four relievers. And after I get another bat, I can drop one of my lesser hitters for another pitcher.

Since the Stanton deal, my team has not been the same on hitting and well, neither has Stanton. Rendon, Machado, Abreu, and Springer are the hot hitters on my team and I basically rely on Davis, Castellanos, Taveras, Choo, Dickerson, Beckham, McCann, and Hardy with their inconsistency. Trumbo is now healthy but can I really rely on him to truly pick it back up and give my offense a spark?

Seriously, though, I begged and pleaded with you not to trade Stanton. Now, you could have him, and not be worried about making space for Lee. Stanton had to slow down a little, but he'll pick it back up for sure.

I wouldn't like going forward with Beckham at MI... and you're relying on rookies in your OF. If you can package one of them with an arm to get a better hitter, do it.

Beckham plays for the white sox though. Beckham also provides hitting and a good batting average. I don't think he is droppable for a guy that gets regular playing time and bats near the top of the lineup. Nos said he's fine with dealing him. I'm at the point where I just want to haul it in and get ready for football but I am not quitting yet. And if I had no luck dealing Stanton for Kershaw, Sale, and Hernandez I definitely will get nothing dealing less. Also, I am chasing Mike Trout, Charlie Blackmon, Dee Gordon, Zack Greinke, Shelby Miller, Morales etc. The guy has a loaded stud hitting lineup with a bunch of lesser hitters(he does not have the median average hitters I have outside his studs) and if I want to beat him I have to get another big bat.

What, do White Sox get extra points? I don't know about you, but the Gordon Beckham I know is a career .247 hitter, (and never above .266 in a season) with very little power.

...see how expensive Zobrist is, maybe you can get him cheap... even Aaron Hill should give you a better shot than Beckham.

You're probably better off sticking with Trumbo. He's streaky, but he'll give you HRs. So far, this has been a pitching-dominating season. I agree with TKO about Zobrist and I like Hill. He's actually beginning to show a little life lately. Maybe you can move Choo for something?

I'll see. I'll first attempt Choo and Shields. If nothing there, then I'd have to deal Cueto. If Lee doesn't pan out its no big deal at this stage.

I did. Nos was not happy so I had to lay out Rios other advantages against Choo such as hits, doubles, steals. I do have a slight hole at 1b/3b though as far as double plays are concerned. So we are working on the next move, like maybe trying to trade Castellanos who I don't need now as a starter with Trumbo, Springer, Rios, Taveras, and Davis plugging those holes with Dickerson as the alt. Assuming those trades are not vetoed. And on top of this I will have same number of pitchers.

One other thing to think about...you're counting an awful lot on Cliff Lee. Might wanna be careful with that.

Yeah but I virtually have the same pitchers. Hamels atm has the edge over Shields other than walks and Lee was the worst trade I made. Or, i traded for him too soon.

He ain't helping you.

You just sold low on Choo and gave away Shields for free. Choo and Rios are comparable players. That is not a good deal for you.

I don't understand the low opinion a lot of people have of Shields. He may not be splashy, but I'd take him anyday.

And yeah, when I suggested he try to move Choo for a big bat, Choo and Shields for Rios wasn't exactly what I had in mind...

I believe thats called collusion but trade is in his favor without either of u knowing it
