He has his limits, but gives his all and is a strong team leader. I liked him with Buffalo and the Rams, you just don't know when those looming bad decisions will kill your team's momentum.

I guess to me while I would appreciate that a player is sticking up for me I also wouldn't want them to possibly threaten their future in the league by making a statement like this. Now maybe Decker can afford to make such a statement as he got a big contract plus his wife does make some pretty decent money with her singing career. Still if I were him I would get to camp but continue to voice from camp with the coaches how much he wants Fitzpatrick in the building.

Fitzpatrick obviously waaaayyy overvalues himself. Want a big contract? Earn it. Why should the Jets give playoff QB money to a guy that has never made the playoffs?

For sure he is a caretaker QB. Not the guy who will win it all for you.

But I would have taken him in Dallas last year as a backup any day of the week.

What was it Dirty Harry Callahan said?

On one hand...I don't blame Fitz for holding his ground...teams like WAS, HOU and PHI have really inflated the mediocre QB market and he's done as much or more than guys like Osweiler, or Bradford.

On the other hand...he wet the bed badly in his chance to get them to the dance LY...got be guarded giving him a long term blank type check contract at his age.

There has to be some middle ground, and I think there will be eventually.

Did the Jets take a QB in the draft?

Anybody know what Fitz is asking for and what the Jets seem to think he's worth?

Dallas should scrape up every penny and try to bring him in before the Jets realize he's all that's keeping them from having the best offensive weapons and worst Quarterbacking in the league.

Kellen Moore might not be able to throw a ball 40 yards. (He got cut in favor of Dan Orlovski last year.)

An exact amount hasn't been reported. Jets offered him around $8mil and he declined. He said he knows his age & realizes he won't be getting paid like younger guys (Osweiller & Bradford) around $15mil. So higher than 8 but lower than 15 lol.

:noidea:

As a Pats fan, I'm really enjoying the Jets drama - again and again and again.....

I don't blame Fitz for asking for a bit more then 8 mil. Yeah he crapped the bed in the final game, but he did make them competitive up to that point.
