So a fourth pre season game can produce a starter?
Ereck Flowers is NOT good
i dont think they are in rebuild mode however getting draft capitol is the right moveYep - I think that Redskins fans have seen enough in the preseason to realize that. IMO - they need to make one last ditch pitch to convince Williams to play for the Skins. If after several weeks of the season it is obvious that he wants absolutely no part of the Skins then try to trade him for another effective O lineman or - if they really believe that are in rebuild mode - as much draft capital as they can acquire.
If WE can see it, why can Gruden not see it. Flowers is down right awful and its why no one wanted him. Go with Martin and take your lumps because Flowers will get Case killed. And to that, we could see Haskins sooner than later. If Gruden really wants Haskins to sit for learning purposes, he shouldn't have named Flowers the starter. Hopefully the team can find a better option once vet cuts happen.Yep - I think that Redskins fans have seen enough in the preseason to realize that. Not many which is why he shouldn't start there. He clearly wasn't capable at LT which is his best position, sorry to say. Who cares where Martin was selected, he seems to be the best option at LG for now. Pretty sad situation if you ask me.how many snaps has flowers had at OG ? i think martin will start but remember that kid is a 4th round pick and asking him to start day one typically is a huge challenge for your avg 4th round pick . not saying flowers is anything at all but perhaps martin needs work on communication and line calls
some people think his best position is at OG in regards to flowers . what you arent getting about where they selected him is as that type of pick in that round usually isnt ready to start day one . it doesnt matter if you "care " or not when he is selected but statistically 98% of 4th rounders dont start year one unless because of injuriesNot many which is why he shouldn't start there. I get your point dad but there are many many coaches who don't mind playing rookies regardless of where drafted. Gruden has always been reluctant to do so. One of his many faults...some people think his best position is at OG in regards to flowers . what you arent getting about where they selected him is as that type of pick in that round usually isnt ready to start day one . it doesnt matter if you "care " or not when he is selected but statistically 98% of 4th rounders dont start year one unless because of injuries
there is a huge difference in expecting a 4th round pick starting day one and having one actually do it
i dont expect 4th rounders to start day one . i am glad if they can but i dont expect it . martin hasnt played a snap in the preseason vs the 1st team defense we are facing . and he wont tonight either
same with moreland as a 7th rounder . he could start for us (because of injury ) but expecting a 7th rounder to start day one isnt smart because the odds are long and most dont stay in the NFL for more then a season or 2
that is statistical fact
i cant defend gruden .I get your point dad but there are many many coaches who don't mind playing rookies regardless of where drafted. Gruden has always been reluctant to do so. One of his many faults...
I think gruden's fate lies with Haskins. If haskins shows marked improvement and learns the offense, even if they dont make the playoffs, Gruden may be back. Only because you really don't want to bring in another offense and have your rookie QB have to start all over again.i cant defend gruden .
he has got this team to hover around 500 and improved the roster from where he got it but and its a big one , he has had now 6 years to turn us into a perennial contender and he hasnt .
one appearance in his tenure
so his choices with flowers and keenum are his and he will sink or swim with them
and he will get shown the door if he doesnt produce as he should be
