I don't think he's on the level of a Sherman/Revis.

LOL. The Pats wont cut DA. They wont take the cap hit. Plus, he has played well. You want to replace one injury prone player (DA) with another in Nicks. That's foolish.
As for Edelman, I love the guy but this is his first healthy season. Hopefully this is the beginning of many.
63 games out of a possible 80, many of which were not unavailability as much as being buried on the depth chart doesn't appear to be a large injury concern to me. Last year he did miss some time, but nothing brutal.

It's like Brees isn't elite. It doesn't mean he's not good, just that he's separated from that top tier.
Brady, Peyton, then Rodgers is three, but pretty damn close. The difference between Brees and Rodgers is significantly greater than the difference between Rodgers and Brady/Peyton IMO.
To me elite means you can be in the discussion as the best. Brees isn't in it, talib isn't in it, at WR no one but Fitz and megatron are in it, at running back AD is alone, etc. If you can't make a serious claim someone is the best, they are second tier, and as such, not elite.
Brees has never been the best in the NFL. He gets more credit than he deserves.
I may be underrating talib because he has spent so much time either out or hobbled. It's hard to say what level he can consistently play at healthy when he hasn't been.
