Would the 49ers consider picking Ed Reed up this week if the 49ers Reid sits out due to his concussion. I would rather have Ed Reed back at saftey against Brees instead of the 49ers back up.

Ed Reed will land with some team unless he gives it up. Not a good way to end your career by getting cut by a bad team. Should of retired on top.

Dahl actually played decently. He isn't Eric Reid, but I thought he did a pretty good job.

I just read that if a NFL player is concussed three times, a team must consider putting him on IR.
Eric Reid is one away.

We should consider Reed as a contigency plan.

Reed would be a pretty pricy back up

besides, the Niners issues are on the offense - their defense is still extremely stout

Jets Picked him up.

No surprise there. Rex Ryan has always had a hard-on for Ed Reed...also doesn't surprise me that Rex would want him even as it is clear that his skills have diminished tremendously over the last couple years.

What does "Must consider" mean here? If the team doctor doesn't sign off he can keep playing? Never heard that but I'm curious what sort of language they use for such things to give it some teeth otherwise coaches would simply blow it off.
