Sanctimonious fuck.

I turned the sound off on any game he called.
When fans from every school think he is biased against them, maybe he's just a shitty commentator.

Well it's the path players choose. NFL just needs to make it right and spend some of those billions to take care of their players health beyond football.

Apparently, how Iowa handled CJ Beathard in the bowl game was the last straw. I am there thinking, I am no trainer or doctor. I am sure he was examined by, at least, one. If he they say he is good enough to play, don't blame coaches.

Now, this reporter is doing the smart thing. If it bothers you that much, don't watch. That is what he is doing.

The article said watching that was "the final straw." This incident pushed him to resign....8 months later?

Seems like an oxymoron.

I didn't know it was so dangerous to be an announcer? I wonder how many concussions he has suffered? This would explain Paul Finebaum.

Maybe a new trend baseball announcers quitting over PEDs, Auto racing announcers over accidents, Hockey announcers over high sticking.

Well, who's going to cry and go on for 30 minutes after every targeting call now?

Sorry, but I have little sympathy for someone who chooses to play a violent sport, gets a free college education, receives millions of dollars to play it professionally and then later claims they are a victim. WTF? Truth is, most of these guys can't do anything very well except play sports. So they either man up, take the good with the bad, or settle for a lot lower income by doing what 98% of everyone else does: they get a decent education and then go get a 9-5 job. One more thing: ever hear of insurance? Yea, you made millions but you didn't ever think about getting some long term disability protection "just in case"? And now you want to bitch and sue and claim you are a victim? Nope. I don't believe it.

Good for him, I honestly feel he wont be the last former player to quit the booth or studio and talk about it more.

methinks, that the NCAA, teams, someone, all of the above...moaned to ESPN about him and they
gave him the option to resign, using whatever statement he wanted to or
be fired.

The reality of the situation was/is "the final straw" was ESPN giving him the either/or scenario
