My initial thoughts are either that, or a general mental/emotional weakness of basketball players.

The court is no different, the baskets are no different. They've got a different locker room, different logos on the floor, and people saying boo instead of yeah. If that's enough for a roughly 35 point change of fortunes, I think it's pathetic.
