It's very early in the season, but so far the Sox lead the AL in hitting, altho they are just 6th in the more important stat of runs scored. Granted, three of the teams in front of them have played an extra game, so we can climb the ladder with that added contest. Of course when you're leading the league in hitting, yet only posting a .500 record, that probably tells you the pitching numbers come up short, and you'd be right. We're 13th in ERA - ugh!! But surprisingly, and yes it's still early, but surprisingly we are currently 3rd in defense with a .993 FP. When's the last time we've seen any Sox team ranked that high defensively, no matter what part of the season?

A large home run porch and spacious ballpark - is a good place to pitch for Cease. He showed an ability last year to get better as he went along in his starts.

I hope Luis Robert continues to lead off.

Where do you bat T Anderson when he comes back. #2?

Dylan's due for a good outing, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed. And I'm with you, I see no reason to pull Robert from the leadoff spot, at least until TA returns. I wish Renteria wasn't so stubborn. Look at this potential lineup, especially when facing lefties:

    1. Anderson
    2. Robert
    3. Moncada
    4. Abreu
    5. Jimenez
    6. Encarnacion
    7. Grandal/McCann
    8. Engel/Mazara (when he's back)
    9. Madrigal/Garcia

We all know Renteria has a boner for Abreu in the 3 spot, but look at those table setters hitting in front of him. Dat's sum good sheet mon.

I'm not too sold on TA batting second. Strange enough I'd rather see him bat 1st or 9th. I don't see much, if any dropoff so far from last year, so I think he's earned the right to remain in the leadoff position. Make him prove otherwise.

I don't know if Timmy's ego can take it, but I'd bat him 8th - just ahead of Madrigal - of course followed by Robert. With the kind of slugging percentage Timmy has this year - the 3rd spot will work well for him - too. Abreu can bat 4, 5, or 6.

Speed at the bottom of this order - turns over the Sox order for Robert - Moncada - Abreu - Encarnacion and Jimenez. Madrigal after Timmy - sets up moving the runner over - hit and runs - sac bunts - etc.
