It's very early in the season, but so far the Sox lead the AL in hitting, altho they are just 6th in the more important stat of runs scored. Granted, three of the teams in front of them have played an extra game, so we can climb the ladder with that added contest. Of course when you're leading the league in hitting, yet only posting a .500 record, that probably tells you the pitching numbers come up short, and you'd be right. We're 13th in ERA - ugh!! But surprisingly, and yes it's still early, but surprisingly we are currently 3rd in defense with a .993 FP. When's the last time we've seen any Sox team ranked that high defensively, no matter what part of the season?
