Per ESPN, the Eagles fire Chip Kelly. Guess that GM/coach experiment didn't work out so well.

Does this mean getting rid of DJax, Shady and Maclin was a mistake?

Wow. With one game remaining. Something tells me they must have had a bad meeting after the ass whooping we gave them. Couldn't happen to a better person.

I couldn't think of a better scenario. It would set the Eagles back years. But I have to believe Lurie has had enough of the college experience.

Reality is, the Eagles will likely let Bradford walk, throw a shit load of money at Jon Gruden, or one of the hot Assistant coaches, then draft a QB in the first round. They have the 10th pick right now, I expect either Goff or Lynche to be either there at 10, or within range for a draft day trade up.

I'm disappointed myself. I was looking forward to more train wrecks involving the Eagles with Kelly driving the train.

LOL!!! I am happy for the fans (relatives and friends in Philadelphia) as a Redskin fan I wish they had extended his contract.

Who thought at the beginning of this year that Gruden and Cousins might be the senior HC and QB in the NFC East in 2017?

I shared this opinion as well as j_y's thoughts on the Eagles board. I'm torn, he's a total asshole but I'm kind of sorry to see the trainwreck end.

Interesting comment above, it appears as if ours may be the only NFC East coach who is retained next year.

Its ironic that our NFC E opponents are now going through what we have been going through for the last 15 years. Coaching instability, QB instability, GM instability, etc. The difference is the ownership. I expect NYG and Philly to right their ship much quicker than what it has taken us. Dallas is a different situation. They have Romo situation to contend with. They are committed to him for the next few years, but his age and health (and contract) will make that difficult. They may very well draft a QB high this year, but determining when to pull the plug on Romo as he ages for a young player will be a tough decision. Similar to what Denver is facing. And there is no telling what or how Jerry will handle that. I don't see Jerry the owner firing Jerry the GM.......

Oh no Jerry the GM, the guy who said being talked out of draftijg Johhny Football was a mistake that won't happen again, is there to stay. That's obviously good news. The Giants front office is proven and even though I'm not a big Eli guy they have proven that they can win with him. Still the clock's ticking on him. The Eagles situation may be the worst. The roster is a disaster with a few really bad contracts. And of course they have no QB at all.

The Eagles are in complete disarray, but Lurie has been a pretty good owner over the years. He made a mistake on Kelly. But I expect he will not make a similar mistake again. They probably have a few tough years ahead of them as they recover from the kelly debacle, but they will be back. He probably will first hire a competent GM and let him hire the HC.

Agreed. To his credit he acted quickly on Chip, his history has been much more patience.
