Yes he can, which makes the decision that much more damning for Haskins.
Maybe, kinda of hard to believe what is what at this point. Will be interesting to see this play out.

Yeah, I have zero doubts that they were working with him all of the time, but what were they doing? there were reports (your included) pointing out basic things like footwork. The kid is a talent, he knows how to play, what he didn't know was how to play in a manner that they wanted him to. This is Washington, an organization that is noted for trying to fit a square peg into a round hole. Perhaps they wanted to form him into a classic drop back QB, or some other image that filled their imaginations instead of the talent that they decided to pick at #15. Face it man, Gruden didn't want him and acted accordingly. Callahan has him now, and has already taken charge of his development. Looking at the new plans for Haskins, you have to ask, why didn't any of this happen under Gruden?

There is no doubt that Jay wanted to fit [insert name here] into his system to play his way. One of the articles I read said they had a Haskin's package. I can't tell you what was in the package I do not know for sure but I am guessing it was plays he is comfortable with and reads that were a little more simple. Often times coaches cut the field in half (left or right) which helps but it also compresses your offense. Jay was known to have a very wordy play calling language. Not easy for a guy that came out of college not calling plays. That isn't just Haskin's, most college QBs get there plays pre-snap from the sideline via hand signals. It should have been a lot of film work. This is what it looked like but this is what it really was.

I am not going to put the "Gruden didn't want him and acted accordingly" tag on him because that is conjecture. We do not know. What we do know is Callahan isn't changing any of that. Apparently the class work and learning continues. For any of us to say we know what was happening there is just a guess and not something we know.

Makes me think back to Griffin who was very inexperienced and Kyle install the read option to help him out. Sadly he was injured, he changed his tune on how he wanted to be used and the rest is history but I brought that up because Kyle did install an offense that worked for Griffin.
