The title of the thread states Defensive Rookies, that list has about 4 offensive linemen... Just Sayin

That makes it even worse. Reid can't even compete with OLs for rookie of the year.

According to this list Reid isn't even top 10. Sorry 49ers fans

He missed a game with a concussion as well...

Not sure how PFF breaks down safeties, but if you've watched him all year (especially today) you'll see a guy who might even deserve a pro bowl birth.

Just saying 49ers fans are such homers. Sure Reid is good but hes probably not even a top 5 rookie to most people you ask.

I'm happy with him. I don't expect people who haven't watched him play every week to fee the same way. Not ALL Niner fans are the same. Reid is good, that's all I care about.

Probably won't win it, since he plays a position where its harder to get good stats. But Richardson has been pretty dominant as a rookie, hes going to be a great player.

Did you even watch the game today? He was a monster.

Call me a homer, but I've been pimping the guy since he was a sophomore at LSU. Most 49er fans thpougt he was a reach, but I thought he was the best safety in the draft. And he's playing like a veteran safety right now.

Y'know, I forgot about Richardson. That dude's a stud.

Objectively, I'd have to give it to Richardson over Reid. Both are playing great though.

See my previous post (#12) -> PFF has him as best performer thus far.

I was just pointing out the list had offensive players and it was off topic. I think its a tie between Richardson and Alonso... You should know what you are talking about before you post. Like Robotic said, I just care that he is a good player

Lol, how was it 'off-topic' when it had 6 defensive players listed, and none of them was Reid?

REID? LOL. 2 of his 3 INTs (I think 3) were gifts. He's put on some good hits but rookie of the year, I think you're getting ahead of yourself.

Sheldon Richardson and Alonso (ILB on the Bills) are clear cut winners if the season ended today. Reid isn't even the best secondary player so far this year (Kid out of Arizona is).

Kiko Alonzo Leads the league in tackles with 66 (next player is 6 behind). He has 4 int's (tied for league lead) and 1 FF (and recovery) and 1 sack. If those aren't DROY numbers I don't know what are.

Where are all the naysayers who argued till their face was blue that Reid would never be a good free safety? A strong safety at best they said... That he lacked coverage skills and wouldn't be the ball hawk that goldson was..

Where are you now?

The Seahawks board? I dont remember these people.

Anyways, the 4 guys standing out to be are Alonzo as the frontrunner with Ogletree, Richardson and Mathieu in the conversation.

Osprey was the one leading that charge and he hasn't shied away from it all. Besides him, nobody else really cared all that much.

Besides, I think you should really consider the hypocrisy behind you demanding that anyone eat crow on a poor projection. Your crow just consists of deflection and denial.

Yesterday was the first time I've watched AZ all season, and after hearing nothing but good things about Mathieu, I couldn't have been more impressed. Absolute monster and steal of the draft.

Reid has been excellent too, plays like a pro bowl veteran every week. The one thing I'll say about PFF is that they grade games from TV - they aren't the most reliable source for DB rankings because they just can't see what the DBs are doing all that often. So while I like the site, especially for rankings of players in the trenches, its hardly gospel when it comes to a broad look at the league.

Overall I have no idea who should get the award, haven't seen enough of many of these guys to have a valid opinion. But almost every one of the top rookies I've watched has been impressive when I have seen them playing. Great draft class.

Actually my guess is they have that All-22 or whatever it is that gives a person the coaches view and allows people to watch multiple angles of games. My guess is they wouldn't just guess how a player did on a certain play.
