Then they should do that in the latter rounds, like say, after the 5th. The C they drafted is said to want above slot money.

The second round guys was player of the year out west. What’s not too like? He has a good hit tool with good walk to SO ratio. Not outstanding power. But you need guys who hit and get on base

I would like him just fine if he had been taken later on where he should have been taken. It is like we got good picks in the first and third(actually second) and no second round pick. That just could not happen in this draft.

I love how all the rankings all of the media were talking about, are meaningless, now that the Rangers draft went so heavily against the rankings. Next year, they need to have the guts to trash the rankings before the draft.

Then when someone questions the Rangers those media members are so condescending. It is laughable.

"The right-hander was the Rangers’ first-round pick, second overall, Sunday night. The Rangers fully expect the 21-year-old to sign with them before the Aug. 1 deadline. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have selected him."

"Maybe he pitches again in 2021, maybe he doesn’t. That’s not much of a concern for the Rangers, who want to keep Leiter healthy and on track for their rotation sooner rather than later."

"That could be at some point in 2023, at which point right-hander Cole Winn, the 2018 first-rounder (15th overall) should be in the rotation. It’s possible left-hander Cole Ragans, the 2016 first-rounder, has made it, and maybe righty Hans Crouse the 2017 second-rounder and righty A.J. Alexy, who came from in the Yu Darvish trade in 2017."
